Who can give Holy Communion at TLM?

I attended a TLM last Sunday.This is the parish:

Around time for Holy Communion, someone else came out from the side. He wore vestements but they differed from that of the presiding Priest. I don’t know if this person was a Priest or not. He assisted in giving people Holy Communion.Right after, he left. Who was he? Extra-ordinary minister? Another priest?Just curious.

Sounds like a deacon. Was he wearing a stole over his shoulder like a sash? Instead of around his neck?

If it was North American Martyr’s in Seattle, it was another priest. The TLM as celebrated by FSSP will have only an ordained priest giving communion. The second priest could act as a deacon or sub deacon during the Mass.

I haven’t been up there to Mass since early June so Fr. Saguto may have gotten some help in the form of a second priest. Lord knows he needs one. Fr. S was promised a second priest by Fr. Berg but they were having some housing problems and some resistance from the Abp. Maybe thats all settled. Got to get up there soon.

My opinion is that it’s another priest. TLMs don’t really do concelebrations… so if there’s a visiting priest, this is what would happen. I’ve seen it before, where the other priests were up front, but not in the sanctuary or as close as the altar boys and acolytes would get. Then when their time came, they’d help distribute the Eucharist, or join the procession, etc.

And because traditional vestments are so beautiful and unique (sometimes they’re individual works of art ), a visiting priest might not have the same ones, or even from priest to priest, within a parish, they could be quite different. I’ve got a book with this image:
