I just would like to know if catholics believe people of other denominations can have the holy spirit?

The Holy Spirit can be at work in non-Catholic Christians, and all those properly baptized receive the Holy Spirit at baptism.

Everyone of God’s creations can know the Holy Spirit. Just ask and repent.
Praise God.

It is possible but beware of those who claim to have it. The Protestants I know are fond of saying that the Holy Spirit is with them because they know ‘many’ Bible passages by heart. IMO that’s not a good sign.

Welcome!

Sure, and they can certainly be baptized, but if they’re working with the Holy Spirit, they will eventually find the Catholic Church (supposing it’s physically possible). The Holy Spirit certainly is not at work in the creation and preservation of other denominations.

According to Catholic beliefs, people receive the Holy Spirit in baptism, and since Orthodox and Protestants have a legitimate sacrament of Baptism, absolutely!

True, but you have to look at it in the right context. After all, Jesus said “Not everyone who says to me “Lord, Lord” will be saved.” in Matthew 7:21. We can’t have a conflict in Scripture.
It’s true that the Holy Spirit can be active in the lives of Christians. But Baptism gives a Christian the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
