The ashes are a sacramental (not a Sacrament) that anyone may receive just like holy water, blessed medals, etc.me and my sister are unbaptized and not Catholic (although I will be on Easter). can we recieve the ashes? thanks![]()
Aren’t we supposed to return to the Father? The ashes are a sacramental (not a Sacrament) that anyone may receive just like holy water, blessed medals, etc.
Also, it is a reminder that we are dust and to dust we shall return (Genesis 3:19). Baptized or not, we shall return to dust.
Congrats on being received into the Church this Easter!![]()
Yes, our souls do. Our flesh remains until the resurrection of the dead.Aren’t we supposed to return to the Father?I am just kidding.
Really??? Well, this is good to know as I wait and wait…Anyone can recieve the ashes, baptised or not. It is a religious tradition not a Sacrament.
