While a Protestant, I attended Catholic Mass. I have been faithfully considering Catholicism since 2000. I didn’t complete my first RCIA because I felt I was unable to join because I wasn’t Catholic or know anyone who was. I needed more time.

At the time, I didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to take Communion/The Eucharist. Since then I have asked about it because I felt guilty. I was told that I was able to take Communion with my hands crossed over my heart and shoulders, but I cannot take the Bread and Wine. What will happen to me for the times that I did take Communion, isn’t there scripture that sya something will happen to me? 😊

Hi,

First of all we don’t “take” it, we receive it. It’s a gift. You received it in good faith. So you didn’t sin. But now you know that you have to wait until you are Catholic to receive. You are in our prayers.
