Who created hell?

He brought that up, too. The devil being the Prince of Lies, that is. He was using it as an example as to why priests, during exorcisms, ought adhere to the form allowed in regard to communicating with demons during exorcisms.
 
I somewhat agree with John Paul II…

we are quick to say, “The devil made me do it,” but slow to admit that we actually bring destruction upon ourselves by rebelling against God’s perfect free will. Our deepest fears become realities or our wildest dreams come true. The only objection I have is the old proverb, “The devil’s greatest trick is making us believe that he does not exist.”

When I labeled Satan as a creation of man’s twisted imagination, I was mentally attacked in the blink of an eye…I was caught off guard.

The serpent tempts when we are most vulnerable (Eve was apart from Adam when she gave in). Like C.S. Lewis said in diff. words, when it comes to demonic spirits, there are two dangerous bi-polar extremes - (1) -believing that demons do not exist and (2) - becoming obsessed with them.

There are two trees…you can choose fruit from God’s gift of Life…or you can steal from the one the serpent wants us to eat - this leads to quick illumination of the senses.
Personally, I would rather take my precious time in growing up…On this path, you can enjoy the scenery as you journey to long life.
On the other path, we may get home quicker and will be thrilled in the process, but I guarantee it will be a bumpy ride without the Gardener’s blessing.

As for the supernatural history of angels, it is certain that they were not created in heaven, that is, in possession of the beatific vision. This was their destiny, but they had to pass a moral test before they got it. They were all adorned with sanctifying grace which in them too is a supernatural gift. The Fourth Lateran Council has defined that some of them sinned. St. Thomas Aquinas explains that in the first act after their creation the angels chose good or evil, and such is the fixity of their nature the choice was irrevocable. Those who chose good were immediately confirmed in grace, and they now “behold the face of my Father” (Matthew 18:10) and dwell in the heavenly Jerusalem. The bad angels fell through the influence of Lucifer, the most exalted of them all, and St. Thomas opines his sin was pride. Not that he wished to be God Himself - an impossible wish - but he desired to attain his happiness solely his own powers. It is certain that very many sinned. It is of faith that the bad angels were cast into hell. Such is the definition of the Fourth Lateran Council and the testimony of Sacred Scriptures. Christ says that reprobate men will go into the eternal fire (spare us O Lord) which was PREPARED for the devil and his angels.

I have been asked this question twice in the past few months, and I really don’t know the answer. Here are some of my thoughts.

God created all things, He created them good. Hell is not a good place.

All things that God created reflect Him in some way. Hell is the absence of God, so it can’t reflect God.

Someone told me that God created hell and there must be some good in hell. They also went on to say that everyone will be saved, even from hell. I know that this is wrong, but I was stuck on the question of who created hell. The only response I had was, what about the devil, will he got to heaven too, and they said no he’ll be on earth.

I’m really interested in the thoughts you have on the subject and most importantly is there any Church teaching on this subject that I can read.

I THINK THAT WE CREATE OUR OWN HELL HERE ON EARTH AND TAKE IT WITH US WHEN WE DIE.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO A MEETING WITH CLOSED DOORS. EVERY ONE CLAPPING AND SINGING, PRAISING THE SPEAKERS AND GIVING PRAISE TO THE CERAMONY, BUT TO YOU ITS TERRIBLE, YOU CAN’T STAND IT, EVEN THE FEW AROUND YOU THAT DON’T LIKE IT DON’T GIVE YOU ANY RELIEF FROM YOUR PAIN, ITS LIKE HELL TO YOU.
MAYBE THEY ARE ALL IN HEAVEN BUT JUST DON’T RELATE
 
Evil created Hell. Yes, even God is in Hell because if God stopped loving you or the divil, you would not exist anymore.
Once you chose Hell, you stay there, there is no more chances for you once you chose to HATE God and deserve Hell for eternity!!!
