Who else is sick and tired of people on this board attacking the Church/the Mass?

Hello everyone! My real name is Wes and I have been involved with a schismatic group since I decided to become Catholic. Unfortunately they were the first parish church I went to. I swallowed there misguided, ( sometimes seemingly paranoid schizophenic) conspiracy theories for ten years until one day it dawned on me that all of this is not coming from a spirit of charity. It is coming from a spirit of fear. Our Lord said " by their fruits will you know them". Well I haven’t seen a whole lot of good fruit so I have began to inquire into the N.O…
I joined Catholic Answers to attempt to get some insight into the changes that took place, not to bash anyone or find out who is bashing who, but what I found is a whole lot of bashing. God bless all of you but we have got to show a little more charity towards one another if we are ever going to convert the world back to Christendom( I’m not talking Dark Ages here ).
And by the way, the above phrase should not be misconstrued as meaning all Trads are paranoid, schizophrenic, conspiracy theorists. That was just my isolated experience with SOME of the people in ONE particular parish. I have been to a couple of different diocesan churches now and experienced the N.O. and have absolutely no problem with it. I also still have no problem with the TLM What I do have a problem with is people who have a problem with people who attend on or the other. THEY’RE BOTH THE MASS! I’m sure this thread will be a little more sane than the last one that I barely paticipated in. I have actually posted two messages trying to tone down the bashing but it doesn’t work and I have only had one response. ( The guy said he would pray for me as I requested) Might even be able to get some catholic answers.

My comment is more against the attacks against the Church.
Mostly tired of all the arguing and fussing over the Orhtodox Christians feuding with us Byzantine Catholics. Come on, we’re ALL from the Eastern Christian tradition and way squabble over something trivial as authority. Yes to me it’s trivial! Christ vreated His Church and whoever leads the Church here on earth is Only Human. Even the Pope and the eastern Patriarchs are Only Human…it’s just that they all have the Holy Spirit. I guess the problem is the matter of Pride on who in their eyes is the leader of The Church.

Authority is certainly not a trivial issue. Christ, time and time again has pointed out through his Saints, that obedience to our superiors is absolutely necessary for our salvation. In fact, obedience, it has been said, is Christ’s favorite virtue. Furthermore, since the church is the body of Christ, obedience to the Church, in the manner presicribed by Christ is obedience to Christ himself. And the manner of obedience to the Church that Christ has proscribed includes obedience to the bishop of Rome, the successor of Sts. Peter and Paul, who has universal jurisdiction.

the last i looked, i believe there are some 21 different “rites” or the catholic church of which the byzentine is one; as it the coptic, polish, etc.
a house divided against itself will fall. i don’t really think that people have much of a problem once it is understood that the roman rite is one of many in the body of the church.

Not a problem at all. But they must also understand that the Patriarc of the Roman rite is the ulitimate head of the entire church, regaurdless of rite, and the center of unity.
