Who has the gift of healing near Ohio

My wife has been suffering from an extreme illness for most of her life. She is up and down and sometimes desperate and suicidal because of it. Is there anyone I can go to that there may be some hope of healing by laying of hands or prayer or whatever? I don’t know what else to do. I’ve prayed and prayed and searched for the right doctor but it still continues. Anyone out there that can offer me some hope. I know we all must suffer but so much on one person I can only cry out to the Lord for her and I do.

Please help.

I would take her to a priest and have him pray for her. Area churches have healing services especially for the sick, emotional, spiritual needs. We just had one on Sept 23 in honor of St. Pio. Also, begin a devotion to St. Pio, novena and prayers. I will pray for both of you, in the holy name of Jesus.
 
Maybe you need to find someone holy who will fast for her. Maybe even you can do that? I don’t kno w the rules.

Hi Ed,

Here is a link to a list of Catholic shrines in your state of Ohio. The website also lists shrines in other states, as well.

I don’t know if you/your wife is up to traveling or if you like to visit shrines. They can also offer Healing Masses, too.

My husband and I have found it personally comforting to visit a shrine. 🙂
 
I think that you should have her find a good doctor to find the cause to treat and that priest can only pray for her that I believe if you ask 10 priests if they have the gift of healing that 9 of them would say they do not have that gift and even one of ten say he has the gift of healing only because he might be a bit coo coo because that no one has the gift of healing besides find very very good doctors sometimes helps and sometimes in few case placebo effect works that once I had a dream in my dream I was told that I have the gift of healing so I told my friend she came to me the next day asked me to put hand on her because she has pain in stomach for years that I could not believe she take my dream as real but I have to put hand on her and pray like she asked and couple days later she called me and said the pain has gone that I believe this is placebo effect for her that I even could not heal my self when sick , that your love for your wife is so good and though I do not have the gift of healing but I have prayed for her.
 
Here is a link to the website for Rhoda Wise, a mystic and stigmatist from Canton, Ohio who had a reputation for healing and now her home has been made into a shrine. She is up for canonization (this is my diocese) and the first Mass to open her cause will be on Oct. 7 at St. Peter’s in Canton. The website is very comprehensive.

There is also the shrine of St. Dymphna, patron of the mentally ill, in Navarre, Ohio.

But who is like Rhoda Wise that’s alive today that can lay hands on her? We tried charismatic healing masses, Sacrament of the sick, novenas and shrines. In other words I’ve tried everything and I could take God’s answer as “No” but I would like to try if anyone can help us. I can’t stop trying.
 
Rather than looking for a healer, I think it might be a good idea to seek spiritual counsel from your pastor. Dealing with this on a spiritual level is of greater importance than growing progressively more urgent in one’s search for extraordinary means of changing these circumstances. When we’re in these situations, we need to ask God for the graces of a deeper faith.

Cleveland diocesan officials neither authenticate nor dispute any healing attributed to Nemeh. The diocese issued the following statement:
“Healing, as understood by the Catholic Faith is based on the premise that prayer doesn’t heal; only God heals. Done properly, those involved in such healing services must do so in the context of legitimate spirituality which means they are not looking for any sensationalism, for personal praise, reward, or adulation.
