I would say that Treebeard came first, because they taught the elves when the elve first came into existence.Silmarillion
With respect, I have to disagree. Tom Bombadil is nature personified, which is why the ring had no hold on him. He existed before anything else in Middle Earth.

I put books and movie were totally awesome, though I would have liked to have seen Tom Bombadil in the movies. I personally felt the movies were better than the books…

Actually, just today I was playing “Rohan” on the piano… great melody!
:dancing:My dd has all three songbooks. She practiced the Rohan theme so much, we started making up lyrics to it…

“We all like to ride our horses…
We just killed a bunch of Orcses…”

(There’s more, but I’m trying to be brief. SO sorry if this ruins it for you!)

VeggieTales will be coming out with a parody in the Fall called “Lord of the Beans.” The promo was on their latest dvd - Duke and the Pie War. Wonder what they will do with this…:rotfl:

Guilty! I loved the books! The movies were great as movies, but they did cut out my favorites parts such as Tom Bambadil (sp?) However, the animated series did a great job keeping the story together… Stilll I am wild about both!!

Hahahaha, when I saw this thread, I went, "Hmm, LOTR, does that mean ‘Latin Order Trinidine Right’ or something? I mean, I don’t think that exists, but then again, what do I know? " So I clicked, and now I feel slightly lame. Oh well, saw the movies and liked them (want to read the books, I’m sure they are better). And, I have read the Hobbit, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Can we say “Mega LOTR fan right here?”

I LOVE Lord of the Rings. My favorite movie was the first, because it gave one a look at some of the cultures of Middle Earth.

The books are amazing as well. That Tolkein was a smart dude.
