What this thread needs is some stimulation. Therefore I submit:
  • Latin is the language of angels… they prefer it
  • those little old ladies with rosaries at Mass knew more about what was going on than any of us youngsters
  • angels will fly six hours one way to find a TLM
  • priests never mumbled the Latin while praying the TLM… those who say they did were just too lazy to learn Latin…or too cheap to buy a missal
  • trads are the remnant of once was
  • trads are the chosen ones
  • Sacred Polyphony and Gregorian Chant are the only forms of voice suitable for the Mass
That ought to do it 😛

Hey, I’m divorced and remarried…everyone is better than me! :eek:

And before anyone suggests annulment, there are complex and very real reasons why I can’t. Believe me I’ve considered it.

Well…I see plenty of traditionalists (whatever that really means anyway) go onto the liturgy and sacrament posts and talk about how CITH is wrong…or you are not as reverent if you receive that way. Same way with the OF…how its not as reverent or its ripe with abuse… So…it’s ok to post on there and start a war of words…but heaven forbid we clarify what someone is saying on this forumn?

I think a lot of it has to do with tone…we all (notice all) need to be careful about how we posts. BTW…I have several traditionalists on ignore because they can’t be civil…just to be fair…not all…but several. But again…define traditionalists…and then that would tell me if I need to stay away…
 
SO, it seems nauseating to you guys that Traditional Catholics (Ones not infected with liberalism and modernism. Join the definition if you’re not) are concerned about the same group of errors because they see them constantly repeated like gospel, even though the Church never taught said errors?

See, as a traditionalist, for me, having studied Vatican II and the previous ecumenical councils, it is so frustrating to see a bunch of wannabe-happy-go-lucky-Catholics (not yourselves) who want to dance to the fiddle like Nero as Rome is literally burning.🤷

So many “Ordinary” Catholics are under the delusion that the Church teaches things like Universal salvation, or that limbo is not real, or that anyone outside of the Catholic faith is excused by invincible ignorance, etc,etc,etc.😦

In fact, I could say just as easily that it is annoying how the same old apathetic Catholics constantly mistake “peace at any price” for Charity and cringe at calling a spade a spade. Christ’s faith is worth much more than just being able to feel good about it.

It’s funny, but the most liberal and generous “ordinary” Catholics tend to be the most rabidly anti-tradition. Apparently none of us are suppoesed to remember the last 1,965 years of church Tradition.:rolleyes: My bad, I forgot the Church only began at Vatican II.:eek:

This isn’t aimed at any of YOU, it is stated in order to bring a balance of perspective. Y’all can be doves, but the Church also needs HAWKS. You can be as liberal and quasi-charitable as you want, but be sure you give me room to be just as rigorist and intransigent as I can within the limits established by the Church.

Perhaps in the end we need each other to sharpen each others perspective, no?

CITH is a valid way of receiving communion, but honestly, is not kneeling in front of the Blessed Sacrament and not daring to touch it with one’s hands more reverent than cupping it in your hand? I mean, come on!
