How can we hold those that are godless in distain, what does this actually mean? We are told to love our neighbours and to hate the sin not the sinner, I do not know what this actually means, are we not to have atheist friends, for example, confused.
 
It’s simple. To love a person =/= to hold a person in high regard.
 
Just because we love our enemies and all non-Christians does not mean we don’t regard their ways as being inferior to the one Jesus taught us.
