Who is Aung San Suu Kyi

Hi,

I’ve heard of this woman, but know almost nothing about her, although I have heard negative and positive things, all of which I have forgotten specific details of because I just didn’t trust any as reliable.

Is she Catholic. I have read she went to Catholic schools most of her life. Where can I find some reliable information on this woman?

Here is another recent story about the Myanmar bishops response to her party almost sweeping elections in the Parliament of her country.

Is there any good reason to study her work, do you think? Should we pray for her efforts?

No, she is not a Catholic. She is a Buddhist.

She is a politician in her native Burma and has fought to bring democracy to her country. Her party actually won an election but she was placed under house arrest and the ruling military junta would not allow her party to take power. She has spent almost 15 of the last 20 years under house arrest for her pro-democracy activities. If you want more information just look on Wikipedia.

I think we should most definitely pray for her efforts.
