Can anyone tell me anything about Father Lasance? I attend an approved Traditional Latin Mass and I’m looking for a Tridentine missal. I’m always directed to Father Lasance’s missal on the search engines and apparently it’s one of the best, but I want to make sure it’s one I should be using. I’m loyal to the church and it’s teachings and I know there are a lot of publications out there that are not.

Thanks :gopray2:

He was priest in the in early 1900’s in the United States. You can purchase his Missal through the Fraternity of St. Peter’s Website.

Thanks, I know, they’re sold out everywhere. That’s why I was curious about him.

If you’re looking for a Traditional Missal, I’d recommend holding out for just a little bit longer: both Baronius Press (baroniuspress.com) and Angelus Press (angeluspress.org) will be publishing very nice 1962 missals soon. The one from Baronius is a reprint; the one from Angelus is new.

If you want something immediate, I recommend the reprinted 1953 St. Joseph Daily Missal available from St. Bonaventure Publications. There’s one very minor misprint in the Communion (has the Priest responding Sed libera nos a malo instead of the Server), and the color is off in a few places, but it’s very study and relatively cheap (around $25 at allcatholicbooks.com, I believe).

Has anyone heard of what the cost may be for the Angelus Press missal? Can’t seem to find it mentioned.

Thanks, yes I heard about this one but they seem to having a problem. First they said, November, then Dec. now it’s Jan of 2005. I’ve heard it’s the best one yet but I didn’t really want to wait that long and yes, I too would like to know how much it is. Maybe I’ll email Angelus Press and see if they can tell me anything.

Well, I contacted Angelus Press, the cost of the new Tridentine Missal is $59.95. You can order by phone now and it will be shipped January 15, 2005. They will be accepting orders online by the end of this week.
