Who is GOD?

Who is GOD, the reason for me asking is I have been searching for answers to all the greed and hatred in our world,

The GOD that is being worshipped lives in Heaven,
Heaven has Pearly Gates. so there must be a fence around Heaven,

The GOD being worshipped sits on a Throne … GOD has a Gold Crown on his head ,

And Heaven is called GODS kingdom. GOD being KING of Heaven,

Now when I look at that GOD I see someone who is not unlike a earthly KING, throne ,crown and Kingdom. is it possible the creator of the Universe has been bypassed with a false god being set up with all the paraphernalia, to act as a security guard for all the greedy Royal Families,

I ask this because if you were asked , "What would a antichrist do with religion, I think that answer would have to be , create great suffering, make wars happen, make people kill their neighbour, ensure millions die of starvation,

would you believe it?? thats is happening every minite of everyday for a very long time,

I know the creator loves everyone.

only a antichrist would hate everyone,

I know the creator would not punish , or cause suffering,

only a antichrist would create hell fire,

I know the creator created paradise on earth,

only a antichrist would create hell on earth,

the creator of the Universe is GOD,

The God being worshipped could be a antichrist disguised as GOD, how do you find out, open your eyes to the truth

God doesn’t actually sit on a throne or wear a golden crown because only physical beings can do that, and God is spirit not physical. Heaven doesn’t have pearly gates, it just how people often refer to entry into heaven.

Love and goodness is of God, and all love and goodness comes from Him.
Greed and hatred come from people who reject God’s goodness and love. Even some who claim to be religious yet murder others are not living in God’s love. Many many people do live in God’s love, but the lack of love, the refusal to live gospel love is what causes hatred, evil, greed.

Hell is the state of being of all who reject God’s love and life and die rejecting His love. Without any vestige of God’s love left in them, they no longer have any joy or beauty or goodness. This is hell, this choice they have made, because they were made for love and goodness and they have shut themselves from it. This is what hell is. This is a choice they have made for themselves

As Emerson but it, to be great is to be misunderstood (can you tell I’m studying transcendentalism in school?). The Greatest being is most misunderstood as well. Not everyone who claims to worship God understands him. In fact, it can be argued that the limitations of our being prevents us from fully understanding the nature of an infinite being.

So whoever put that message on the missile is not God’s emissary to all mankind, but in all likelihood someone who does not understand the concept of God as others (especially those whom you will find around here) do. btw, welcome to CAF.

We can give you long lists of those who preached and lived love, and even died for that. Dear Athair, I am sorry that you have this bitterness. I don’t think that anything we can say will get past your resentment and negativity at this time…but perhaps some day!

Good questions! Please keep asking more and seeking the truth

As to the question of what God is in His nature, He is a god, and not just a god, but the god, for there is no other god but God.

As to the question of who God is in His essense, He is God. No one can fathom the essense of God; all we know is, God is God.

I recommend studying Greek philosophy to better understand the Catholic Church’s belief on God.

I also recommend you study the other beliefs of God in Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, etc. He who seeks the truth will find it!

God is Love in the person of Jesus Christ. Hence, he died for your and my sins.

The anti-christ will come, one good way of knowing him is in it’s refusal to accept Christ as Lord. Pride is another good indicator. Needless to say, he will deceive many nations and many will bow to him as god.

No one can see God, therefore, God came to us, became flesh, and dwelt among us. This is our faith in the second person of blessed trinity, God the Son, Christ the King!

God created us, he gave us life. Therefore he deserves to be at least worshipped.
He has given us free will to either worship him and love him or not.
Prayer is communicating with God, telling him how much we love him and asking him to forgive us for things we may have done. Pray is also giving thanks to God for everything we have.

Of course each religious group is going to claim that their God is the one true God. But its when you do the research and come across the facts that to me, Catholicism is the one true religion of God, hence the reason im a Catholic.

You can question about God if you wish, but until your ready to embrace him, you wont know what his love is like.

Has it ever come to your mind that maybe some (or even many, to be more realistic?) people misuse God’s name, whether purposely or accidentally?

Because we are free about how much time we choose to spend to worship God, that’s why? And why did God made us in such a way that we can kneel to worship Him in the first place?

That there are religions which claim their God to be the only God and that other gods are false gods doesn’t meant those of that faith will necessarily wipe out the earth of everybody who worships other gods! Especially if their God is true Love Himself!!!

Booklover, according to his profile, athair_siochain is supposed to be… a Catholic! There are people who say they are Catholics but act more like they are agnostics or like they question their religion, almost like atheists, who would confuse the conduct of some “Catholic” leaders which seems or truely is (it depends) unacceptable according to what the Catholic Church teaches… with the actual Catholic Church!
