Okay, what we have here is you seriously misreading those verses. First of all, of course he wanted to prove he wasn’t a Spirit! That’s the natural thing to assume when you see someone you swore was crucified just a few days ago, i.e. “it can’t actually be His actual body”! Regardless, nowhere have I ever heard in Christian thought the belief that Jesus was a Spirit post-Crucifixion rather than a Man, anyway. In the New Testament, Jesus (pbuh) is reported to have said the following words to the disciples when he first met them after his alleged crucifixion:
"Behold (have a look at) my hands and my feet, that it is I myself (I am
the same fellow, man!): handle me and see; for a spirit has no flesh and
bones, as you see me have.
. . . And he showed them his hands and his feet." … (Luke 24:39-40)
This is really Jesus (pbuh) testifying that he was alive and not a resurrected spirit and by showing them his hands and feet, he was proving to them that he was not crucified since there were no signs of crucifixion.
Secondly, even I - a non-Christian - know that Jesus showed people his hands and feet as proof that he was actually risen. It’s well known that the Disciple Thomas would not believe that He was Resurrected until he had seen the wounds of Christ.
Read parts in bold:
John 20:24-29 said:24Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe."
26Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
It’s very dishonest that you twist the Scriptures of other faiths in order to suit them to your own. Forgive me if I seem rude, but I hate it when people take things out of context. Defend the Qur’an on its own merits, rather than trying to prove it with the Bible.
