In this Sunday’s R.C.I.A. session, I will pose the same question that Jesus asked Peter, *“Who do you say I am”? *What would be your response to Jesus’ question? Perhaps I can share it with the class.

So which you are we talking about? The you you take to work, the you who parties on a Friday night, or the you you bring to Church in your Sunday best?

First of all, Jesus is my best friend! He is my life, my love, my salvation, my hope, my joy. You could say that he is my everything! Without him, where would I be? Where would I go? What would I be? A very miserable person that is for sure. I would not want to imagine what this world would be like without Jesus. Every day I thank Jesus for being in my life, for loving me, caring for me, having compassion for me and forgiving me. That is what Jesus is to me.:signofcross:

At once my lord and God in his divinity, and my brother, my friend and my king in his humanity. All in one divine person not by admixing the natures but by assuming his humanity in it’s entirety into the divinity of his person.

Are the words “true friend” enough? I feel as though one person summed it up already when she said “my everything”. When I am sad and anxious I feel him there most but I also feel him when I am full of joy- he celebrates with me.

Hello Mexolic,
that’s a very good question, “Who is Jesus to me?”
St. Peter was asked that question by Jesus before he was crucified, and I feel that makes a difference.
Jesus gave the sermon on the Mount, he healed the sick, he gave eyesight to the blind, he raised the dead and in return he was mocked, whipped, flogged and crucified and in return for that, he gave love back. He didn’t curse them. He is compassion, mercy and love personified. Without him we would have nothing. We are greatly privileged. He is the greatest friend the world will ever have and there can be none better. Our treasure is in him.

God bless you.

Jesus to me is someone who only lived 2,000 years ago but is probably one of the most misunderstood people in history. There has been so much said that it is probably impossible to know the real character of the man and his life.

I only see him as a man as I can’t make the leap - which seems like fantasy - to him being a son of a deity. That just seems a step to far. Or that he rose from the dead.

Hello aprilfloyd.
What you have said I find a bit sad really. I don’t mean sad in a mocking you kind of way.

Jehovah’s Witneses come round here every now and again. I ask them a question that none of them can answer. They go door to door telling people that Jesus is not God. They like to use a particular verse of scripture in doing so. Jesus said that only God is good. So I ask them what they find bad about Jesus. That’s the question that they can’t answer.
There is more to the resurrection than some realise. Jesus made some remarkable claims. One of them being that eternal life is in his words. He also made the huge statement that none can get to the Father except through him. He claimed to be the only way to reach God. He made very serious statements that amounted to blasphemy had he have been lying. Well he was put to death for it, Found guilty by the people but not guilty by Pilate. I see Pilate being there on the part of the Gentiles. God agreed with Pilate because Jesus rose from the dead. In doing so he proved eternal life is in his words. Through Jesus’ sacred heart we find God himself. Only Jesus can heal the wounds of others in his.

Allow him to heal yours.

May God bless you.

Thanks for your comment - not sure how I feel about it to be honest - will think

 Move along…

ANYWAY…

Jesus is the Third Person of the Trinity - the creator of the universe, the Son to the Father Who is of all things. He is God.

Second person, actually. Father = first; Holy Spirit = third.

:bigyikes:

What is wrong with being a woman? I am sure if woman dominated 2,000 years ago we would be discussing female apostles and messiah’s.
Nothing ofcorse, just the fact somebody called Jesus a woman I found insulting because he was not one.

God Bless! Your Brother in Christ,

Jesus is my Lord and my savior! My refreshment! The bread of life! The Eternal Word! The King of Kings! The Lord of Lords! The savior of the world! The salvation of souls! My best friend! 🙂

To me, Jesus is God incarnate.

In the Roman Catholic faith, God is three Beings in the One Entity.
God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God (Holy Ghost).

God the Father created Earth and everything on that earth.

God the Son was incarnate 2,000 years as Jesus Christ and He lived for 33 years to re-establish the Covenant between God and mankind.

God the Holy Spirit was Jesus gift to mankind to guide man through the last 2,000.

Jesus is the bridge or the link through Whom mankind can be saved.

I am sure it was a joke or maybe a reference to women’s inferior positions in the Church
