There is an older post that is locked but needs a slight update titled “Who is like God”. The main answer states:
“As the story goes, Satan tried to convince St. Michael to join him in rebellion against God with the promise “we can be like God,” meaning they would have power. St. Michael’s response is a rhetorical question, asking “who is like God?”, meaning that nobody is like God but Himself.”
This “nobody is like God but Himself” is not actually correct, it is true for Satan but scripture says:
“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Gen. 1:26) as you have also posted in other discussions. We are “Like” God in that we have a capacity to love. This is important for many reasons, it in part explains why we are so hated and a focus of and by the devil. The Devil did not want to serve God or be in service to what he considered lower creatures, namely us.
Just a thought. Thank you for a great site and resource.
