Rome is symbolic of horse and chariot and capitalism.

Compare a greedy insecure individual to an individual who follows Mt.6, 24-30.

Think of Mitt who is a money manager and Mormon bishop.

Build treasure in Heaven.

I looked it up online and so many negative anti-catholic people say it is the Roman Catholic church, and I don’t understand why? I am also curious as to who actually is “the great prostitute”.
I was taught that Babylon represents the Catholic Church. I’m not sure what I believe but here is why some people think that way (I don’t agree with all the reasons, I only list them so you know what some Protestants think):

“Babylon the great” - The Catholic Church is the largest religion in the world, has power, and is able to influence other nations

“the mother of prostitutes” - The apostles taught faith alone and Bible alone. All Christians were Protestant until the Catholic Church corrupted the gospel and created another gospel based on works and the traditions of man

“and of the abominations of the earth.” - idolatry (creating and bowing to statues of Mary, praying to Mary, worshiping Mary)

“the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.” - The Catholic Church persecuted and killed more Christians than everyone else combined. Some estimate Catholics killed up to 92 million Christians during the Inquisition.

As for me, I’m hear to learn more about Catholicism. I used to believe what I was told but I’m not sure what to believe anymore.

Sounds like the UK, you know how it used to have the worlds biggest navy.

This is a gross and blatant exageration, no,*** lie. ***No reputable scholar or historian puts the number anywhere near that. What was the population of Europe at that time even? And all the early martyrs were Catholics/Orthodox, and Catholics (along with other christians) continue to be persecuted today.

I’m glad to hear that. I’ve been told all this before too, even by my protestant family. It was hard refuting it and learning the truth.

Umm, the Republican candidate for U.S. President. Do British newspapers not cover American news?
There is no interest over here.

Same as any other country until the actual election itself.

Does it really matter who becomes president?

Yes, but some would probably say that it matters more who the newly elected senators and congresspersons are.
