He never mentioned himself nor a Ghost~

John 17:1- When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify thy Son that the Son may glorify thee, 2- since thou hast given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him. 3- And this is eternal life, that they know thee the ONLY true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

How many definitions does the word “Only” have?

Just one in this sense. Your implication that there are many gods in the Trinity is futile as the core of Trinitarian belief is there is only one God.

Maybe you would like to discuss the different natures of this one God, yes?

Peace!!!

Actually it looks like, “and Jesus Christ whose you have sent” could have been added to the words of Jesus. Would he really refer to himself in the 3rd person and add “Christ” when so often he avoided that title?

But in his close circle of disciples he did affirm Peter’s declaration, “You are the Christ, the son of the living God.”

Thanks, AD!

Having THREE All-Powerful (‘Co-Equal’) Beings = 3 Gods, and the age-0old ploy of saying THEY are “one” will fool only those not WANTING truth.

No- for GOD had sent Jesus, He (‘THEY’) didn’t come Himself (‘Themselves’).

I understand your delima theMadJW and i pray your childlike nature will someday be allowed to accept those things you otherwise cant see without.

Mt 11:25 - …you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.

Dan 2:22 - He reveals deep and hidden things…

Peace!!!

Understanding the One God in three Persons is hard. In fact, it is a mistery!

But once you understand the difference between nature and person, you probably will be enlightened.

To help clarify things for you, I ask you this: do you ever talk to yourself?

Your ignorance of the Trinity is understood, and wanting. Please try to understand that you are in need of sofentening your hardened heart if you wish to understand truth.

So here he acknowledges the One true God! but else where he claims to be God! So either Jesus was God, a liar or a madman. Which do you believe him to be?

One thing we ought to have seen is that God cannot be put into a box. No either/or with God. God is both three and one. Jesus is both human and divine. God is both a mystery and revealed, both transcendent and imanant.

God the Father = God
God the Son, Jesus = God
God the Holy Spirit = God

1 God, 3 Divine persons in one God = Trinity

Didn’t He also say “Before Abraham was I AM” and “The Father and I are one?”

Thanks, but I already see; the spirit revealed it.
Jesus said it means Eternal Life to KNOW God.
He IS no ‘Sacred MYSTERY’ once you take THIS step~

James 1: 5- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

It didn’t suddenly happen- but slowly formed as I listened to what Jesus taught, and started reading the Entire Bible through- slowly!

Agape!

His nature: spirit, not flesh.
His Person- NOT Their Persons

I neither talk to myself nor ask myself any questions…

Aulef: Didn’t He also say~ “Before Abraham was I AM” and
Mad: Jesus disn’t speak e-bonics, and “I AM” was NOT God’s Name at Ex 3. Yhe greek “ego eimi” is truthfully translated as " I WAS" here.

Aulef: Didn’t He also say~“The Father and I are one?”
Mad: Yes- and he said he an his disciples were, too. (John 17)

God the Father = God

God the Son, Jesus = God

God the Holy Spirit = God

Fact: That is Three Gods
Old Spin: 1 God, 3 Divine persons in one God = Trinity

You are sadly mistaken. That is NOT 3 Gods. There is only ONE God - three divine persons. That is not an “old spin”. Even non-Catholic Christians know there is one God - three divine persons.
