Who is the saint for finding a good spouse?

One of the funnier stories (possibly an urban legend) has to do with a woman who kept a St. Anne or St. Anthony statue. One day, in frustration, she said, “Much good you’re doing me!” and tossed it out her apartment window. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang - when she answered, there was a young man holding her St. Anne statue. He said, “I think this is yours - you threw it out the window and it hit me on the head”. They ended up getting married.

(Disclaimer: I am NOT encouraging people to throw statues at other people!).

I love that story…it reminds me of a book I bought about St. Anthony. I’ve tried to read it but just can’t seem to get into it. I’ve moved twice since buying it and have tried to give it to Goodwill or some other charity a few times and it keeps making it’s way out of the charity bag…lol not sure how either. I was certain last time it was in the bag then I found it in a box while unpacking the last time…I’m wondering if its a sign of something…you think

Hmmm…interesting. For myself, I prayed for years for God to let me know what He wanted, that if it was marriage to show me the right man and make my feelings for him alone, keep me from messing up. I found the guy—a wonderful friend—but he doesn’t know he was found. I went into some questioning, but have received the same answer, got flowers from St. Therese, but he still doesn’t know he’s been found.

Who do I ask to knock him upside the head? He has relationship fears, he does have some issues he needs to face–like he’s not too old to marry (life did not end at 50 buster, if it did, you would be dead) and it is possible that God might have a different plan for him than he has for himself.

I pray the Rosary daily for him. It’s hard to contain the joy at finding him after so many years of praying, but he is obstinante to the extreme.

As the other members have mentioned, Saint Joseph is a wonderful saint to ask for intercession for one’s vocation to marriage. There’s also archangel Saint Raphael, who helped Tobias and Sara. AFAIK, you can pray to any saint for any intention. I also pray to Bl. Anna Marie Taigi, St. Anne, St. Martha, and of course Our Blessed Mother.
