I have a handmade Mexican icon. It’s of a monk with two doves in his hands and one at his feet. He’s wearing yellow. It’s from my GM, who doesn’t know who he is.
I would have said St Francis of Assisi except for the yellow robe. He is often depicted with doves. Would the Mexicans have dressed St Francis in a gold robe?
Could it be St. Joseph? I know that he is often pictured holding two doves, which was the offering that poor people made to the temple at the presentation of a firstborn son (Luke 2:22-24). Other than him, I’m stumped.
