I took the risk and clicked the link- it’s legit.

I have no idea who it is, though. Very few people who died as children have been beatified, much less canonized, and still fewer if any had been many decades ago, when the picture seems to have been made. Perhaps it’s meant to be Mary as a child? Or even the child Jesus (sometimes boys look like girls by modern standards in old pictures)?

Although it looks so real to me, so like an ordinary child whom the painter had seen or seen a photograph of. Perhaps someone lost a child, and had a picture painted of them as a saint?

Or maybe the painter just used a real child as a model for a painting of someone else?

It has a halo, so likely a saint or a blessed.

Perhaps not. Perhaps a relative?

I’m not sure who the picture is meant to be. However, when I first saw your post I was pretty sure the link was going to send me to a viagra ad or something, especially since you only had three posts. That might be why you haven’t gotten any other responses. You might want to include a little more information in your post so that it doesn’t look like a fishing scam. I’m sorry I don’t have a guess for you as to who the picture is supposed to be. I would think if it was supposed to be an icon of a saint, it would have the saint’s name on it somewhere.

Look at the URL and it will give you a good idea of safety. I’m almost certain that this is hosted on Facebook servers.

I did an image search on google and your painting is entitled “Mary Most Holy” and was painted by Charles Bosseron Chambers.

👍 good sleuthing and thanks to those people who posted warnings I am too trusting I guess . i just clicked and instantly thought it was the child Mary or Jesus .

Yes! I found it earlier today, and figured it out.

Thank you for the information. Sorry, just joined and didn’t think about the fact that I could be bad! 😉

I’ll think more outside the box next time. haha.

I appreciate all the answers! My Aunt who recently died had this in her basement and people thought it might be a relative, but I knew, we had NO saints in our family!

I adore it and now must search eBay for one of my own. 😛

Any member of your family who is in heaven is a saint whether the family is aware of the fact or not.
