BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!

I wish I had been there. All of the hymns were sublime. The Sermon was excellent. This is the most beautiful event I’ve ever witnessed!:extrahappy:

Thank you, Pope Benedict! 👍

Instead of polemics, let’s focus on the beauty of the Mass that we’re watching, and rejoice in this momentous day that we have. 👍 🙂
In all seriousness I am rejoicing indeed that all y’all who are spiritually at home with the TLM can now have greater access to it :extrahappy: and here’s hoping for even more progress in the future 👍

What a marvel of unity in diversity our faith is, that we can have Ordinary and Extraordinary Rites rubbing shoulders on EWTN, and out in the world too, along with Maronite, Melkite, Syro-Malankara and all the other glorious Rites of the Church! :getholy:

So it ends.
And so it begins.

How awesome was that?
Probably the best TLM video I’ve ever seen.

And why does Mother Angelica always have an expression on her face which says that she’s looking at Satan himself?
She didn’t before the last stroke which paralyzed her face. It’s a blessing she is able to be present at this Mass at all. She suffered long and hard for it.

Wait…
I thought they abrogated the second confiteor…
The second confiteor is not in the 1962 Missal. But the FSSP uses it anyway. I am not sure if it is optional or not. All I do know is that we at Mater Ecclesiae do not use it.

…Poor thing…
I pray that she got a lot out of that mass.

Why do they use it if it’s not in the missal?

I smell double standards…

This day will mark the beginning of the restoration of the Church.

The sermon was great. I don’t recall hearing about the “dignity of man” once. The glory, sanctity and magestry of God was the focus, as it should be.
The beginning of the restoration of the Church began when Mother Angelica saw her first TV broadcast station and said, “I have to have one of those!”

This isn’t the beginning, but I hope we are nearing the end of the beginning.

Where could I watch the mass at? I tried EWTN website, but maybe I didn’t look hard enough.

It’s over now. I’m at work and missed most of it :crying: :tissues: . But you can be sure they’ll be putting it out on DVD!

They’re also rebroadcasting: check the web site for September special programming.

Will this be the “Daily” Mass that thy will air on the radio today?

I’ve caught bits and pieces. What I saw of the homily was indeed wonderful.

This may be my ADD-attention-span-of-a-gnat brain and my simple veering to the spartan tastes talking,
but I’ve seen several filmed TLMs now and it just does nothing for me … all that lace and tizz on the vestments? Way overdone.
Sorry that the Mass of all Times, the Mass of the Ages, the Mass of the Apostles does nothing for you. It was absolutely beautiful, The music was from heaven. An d LilyM this is for you, I didn’t see anyone wearing shorts or blue jeans, tank tops etc. The respect that this Mass generates is amazing.

If Lily persisted, she will have discovered that the readings are repeated in English.

Ohh, ohh, ohh! It was soooo reverent, majestic with the glory of our Lord, the music sooo sublime, just absolutely wonderful. It would be nice if EWTN offered TLM once every day or maybe on Sunday. [sighs happily] His Holiness, Pope Benedict is right…this Mass does help heal our souls. Its like we’ve gone back in time and are attending the usual traditional Mass. I understand how the faithful, saints, monks, and nuns, felt.

My only complaint is that Satan tried to get it unplugged at the Consecration. Pooey on him for trying to be an evil wet-blanket. It didn’t work for long. We got the TLM back with hardly anything missed though it wasn’t paused.

Communion must’ve taken a half hour for all those people, Sisters, and Brothers. Truly beautiful to see compared to the hurried affair some Churches display. Its awesome to finally see Communion Rails.

I certainly cried from the consolations and happiness this Mass has brought me. If they do bring it out on DVD, I’m definitely getting it. Such a momentous Mass to begin the activation of the Motu Proprio decree. Now any Catholic Church may use the 1962 Latin Mass without prior approval. Yay!

Was Mother Angelica interviewed? – or are you just remembering how she used to say that?
Mother was not interviewed. However, Fr. Goodwin mentioned the word awesome in his sermon and said he used in respect to Mother who used that word so very often.

I haven’t been to a TLM in over 5 years. I think I need to get out my Missal next time. Or maybe not – it’s awesome anyway. I enjoyed chatting about the differences with my 4 year old (we watch the daily Mass sometimes). We all love it so much, so why don’t our parishes get on board?
