Oh God! I have a top 5!
(no particular order)
(no particular order)
- John Paul I
- John Paul II
- Pius X
- Pius XII
- John XXIII
Wow ProVobis…John XXIII.
Why a surprise? He was very likeable and his 1962 Missal is a classic. Even the SSPX agree on that.Wow ProVobis…
Thats a surprise choice!
Thanks for making it…
Reasons? (You know me from other threads… I’m not interested arguing… just curious).
He is obviously massively important in the history of the Church in the 20th century… and he was a saintly and holy man.
You piqued my curiosity with your one word and five letters and left me hangin’!!!![]()
Prudence is a virtue you obviously possess. Why a surprise? He was very likeable and his 1962 Missal is a classic. Even the SSPX agree on that.![]()
From what I’ve understood, Pius X mandated and was greatly involved in the writing process of the Code while Benedict XV promulgated it (arguably as a result of Pius X’s urgings). But I’m open to further clarifications as well.I like him too…
Didn’t Benedict XV give us the 1917 code of Canon Law, and wasn’t that in force until 1983… or am I ignorant of something? (this is quite possible of course… would appreciate a correction)
And what is your generation?John Paul II, because he went to the ends of the earth to tell my generation that God loves them
John Paul II, definitely! It’s because of his amazing charisma and his efforts to end the restraints of Communism. He is an inspiration to me. The joy of God was always in his eyes.Simple question…this is a poll. Please vote and respond…Please also give your reasoning. God Bless
Personally, I think St. Pius X is the best out of the 20th Century…I love his Catechism of Modernism…I think it is applicable…especially today
Ok…I forgot to include the poll…Mea Culpa!!! Just respond LOL
Great post!Probably Benedict XV(you always feel for the “forgotten man”); it annoys me that Leo XIII recognized the French Republic(long live the House of Bourbon!).
Thank you.Great post!![]()
I think John Paul II might agree with you, as he took the same name. It was sad that John Paul I passed on so soon.As a Pole I should say John Paul II, but instead I will say - John Paul I. Why? Because of his incomparable humanism, remarkable modesty, great understanding towards all people and all this, what he wanted to do, but had not enough time to accomplish.
