A childhood favorite of mine was Jonah. What kid doesn’t like the whale story? And he ends up successfully saving Nineveh too. I had a children’s book with really interesting illustrations of Jonah in the whale’s belly and later all the Ninevites standing around looking sad in their sackcloth and ashes.
I also learned at some point during my childhood that there was a case within the last couple centuries of a sailor who was swallowed by a whale, which was then killed and the man was recovered from the whale’s stomach alive, which shows that it could happen.

I’m going to go with Qoheleth, “Vanity of vanities. . .” and Job,
“Job spoke, saying:
Is not man’s life on earth a drudgery?
Are not his days those of hirelings?
He is a slave who longs for the shade,
a hireling who waits for his wages.
So I have been assigned months of misery,
and troubled nights have been allotted to me.
If in bed I say, “When shall I arise?”
then the night drags on;
I am filled with restlessness until the dawn.
My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle;
they come to an end without hope.
Remember that my life is like the wind;
I shall not see happiness again.”
For the NT . . . maybe John the Baptist. I like the idea of a dude living like a wild man in the wilderness before he comes back into civilization to testify.

OT - King David - because he is honest even in a position of power he admits his sins even to dubious strangers (like Nathan who wasn’t even a good prophet) and he lets people criticize and even curse him (the Saul event) and he put God first in all of his success over and over again.
NT - Saint Hannah/Anne - she is unjustly judged by the people and community who she helped with her faith and prayers and still remains faithful to God. She’s so nice and even her husband doubts her eventually - who would not like her?
NT - Saint Paul - he is the convert from the order of Pharisees who changes the course of history for Christianity. Puts together the Scriptures, has enough faith to trust God to the point of death… Shows us how to admonish with love, writes the best letters imho. He’s just the milestone imho. Point.

The friends who took the paralytic to Jesus in the second chapter of Mark’s Gospel. They showed a great deal of faith and love. First, they take their friend the paralytic to get cured by Jesus, having to carry him. When they get there they cannot get in because of the crowd. But this does not stop them, no. They just tear off the roof (making a mess in the process) and with great faith lower him down to Jesus. Nothing was going to stop them.

OT: Qoheleth definitely. Ecclesiastes is my favorite book in the whole Bible, so I’m a fan of him.
NT: St. Peter and the Roman centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant. I love how genuine St. Peter is in what he says and does and the love he had for Jesus. I like the centurion due to his faith, humility, and trust, especially as a man of authority.

This story was in a book of Ripley-type tales when I was a kid.
I notice that Snopes and some historian have claimed it is questionable, but the issue is not so much could a whale swallow a guy (apparently it could) as whether the guy could survive being in the belly of the whale. Seems like if you were spit out quick you might survive.

I’m going to go with Esther. Everyone knows she is the best. Beautiful, bold, and devout.
Esther was a remarkable woman who put her own life at risk to save her people. She is an inspiring example of serving others under incredibly difficult circumstances. Her bravery and courage is still celebrated by Jews during Purim.
Gabriel, is also pretty awesome. Maybe a little scary, but he is an archangel, after all.
