I was going to ask, Super Hero. But that would be too limiting, perhaps, as many of you would not have one to share.

So, however you wish to contribute, but please don’t overwhelm. (Less is often more.) 🙂 I was thinking maybe a favorite virtuous and moral person, aka. good guy/gal and the opposite, commonly referred to as a villain.

A little commentary would be welcome, but 10,000 word essays would be frowned upon.

Thanks for your participation. 🐙

Vito Corleone from The Godfather. He’s definitely an antihero but I find his character wise and intriguing.

Anne of …insert book here. Anne of Green Gables/Avonlea is cute but the other books…Anne of the Island/Windy Poplars/Anne’s house of dreams…are all excellent.

Clarissa Mae MacDougal Kinneson. (Chris).

The “red” Lensman, and the only woman Lensman. Second Stage.

Fanny Price from Mansfield Park, closely followed by Anne Elliott from Persuasion, Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice, Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings, Passepartout from Around the World in 80 Days, Jane Marple and Hercule Poirot (created by Agatha Christie), and Lord Peter Wimsey (created by Dorothy L. Sayers).

Some of these characters I do not know. I suppose I will have to read a bit. 🙂

I am not fully decided on my characters as yet. But for now I shall put forth two, both good.

Lady Galadriel from LOTR and Aslan from Chronicles of Narnia.

Although there characters are not highly developed, they represent in the world of literature, persons with the highest degree of virtue one might attain. Galadriel ever so slightly less so, it must be added.

Most of you know who the two characters are meant to be types of.

Here is a cool little blog, very short, on Galadriel and how she is representative of the Blessed Virgin.

So Laura Ingalls Wilder wouldn’t count, I suppose? In that case, Nancy Drew!

Han Solo (Star Wars)

Greater Ajax (The Illiad)

Sancho Panza (Don Quixote)

Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings)

Lady Macbeth (Macbeth)

Why wouldn’t Laura count? Because of the pig-tails? You’re right they were a bit obnoxious. 🙂

OK, let’s not set a precedent for more than five, cowboy.

Good choices though.

Oh, sorry. Got a little carried away there. 😜

I’ll trim it down to Lady Macbeth. She was such a jerk and I’m a sucker for a good villain.

Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy - Pride & Prejudice

Gandulf - Lord of the Rings

Ooohhh.

Ok here’s 5. Extra credit if you can identify even one of them…
  1. Richard Seaton
  2. Tweel
  3. Worsel
  4. Louis Wu
  5. Gharlane
