Hello brethren,

I have several favorites… but if I were to pick one, I’d probably pick Mar Aprem Qadisha (aka St. Ephrem).

Ok now, your turn 🙂

God bless,

Rony

Saint Catherine of Sienna, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Augustine of Hippo, Saint Francis Xavier.

Blessed John Paul ll . I think he was an inspirational leader in the Catholic Church and I hope that Pope Francis is going to make us proud to be able to say, “yes I am a Catholic,” again. I think the church is a smaller church but it’s going to be a stronger church because the faithful have stayed with it and hopefully now will be attract new people and new vocations to the priesthood.

Since this is Eastern Catholicism, I’m going to put St. Ambrose aside, and go for:

St. John Chrysostom… or St. Basil… or St. Athanasius… or … I can’t decide! They’re all so great! Praise Christ our God for all the saints! 😃

St Cyprian of Antioch
According to recent news reports it may soon be John Paul II! Pope John Paul II could become saint by October

Pope John Paul II could become a saint by October as the Vatican looks into another possible miracle involving him, according to Italian media reports. more

🙂

I must say recently, it is St. Monica. Thanks to a prayer warrior here, I learned about her biography. I loved how she persevered in praying for her son,(ST. Augustine) husband and mother-in-law.

I always loved our Blessed Pope John Paul II. I look forward to seeing his canonization.

I also like Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen and look forward to his canonization. (He’s from Illinois, by the way)🙂

My favorite Church Father is St Cyril of Alexandria. 👍

I have lots of favorite saints:
St Mary the Theotokos, St Zechariah the Old Testament Prophet, St Stephen the Protomartyr, St Cyril of Alexandria, St Severus of Antioch, St Andrew Kim Taegeon, St Gemma Galgani, St Athanasius of Alexandria, St Anthony the Great, St Thomas Becket, St Ignatius of Antioch, St Patrick, St John Chrysostom…

Should we get you a very long scroll so you could list them all?😉

St. Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas for leading me from ignorance and sin into the Truth of the Catholic Church. If I were to limit myself to the East, as this is listed in “Eastern Catholicism,” It would be St. Athanasius, the man who saved the Church from Arianism (rather the H.S. saved the Church through him).

St. Athanasius the Apostolic, St. Cyril, St. John the Little, St. Ephrem, and of course I would be remiss if I did not mention St. Pishoy (the patron saint of our church here in Albuquerque). Oh, and St. Moses the Ethiopian.

:(Please dont ever not be proud of being a member of Christs Church, don`t ever forget the Church is His Bride. You may be ashamed of certain things individuals members of the Church do and we do have our tragedies; Great Schism, scandals like sex abuse etc. Delve into Church history and you will see it has always been so.

Back on topic, I have too many saints of the both Eastern and Western traditions I could call favorites it is hard to narrow down but I see no one has mentioned Blessed Theodore Romzha yet.🙂

At this particular moment it is gentle Francis de Sales.
But so many otherwise.

St. Francis of Assissi, Blessed Theodore Romzha, and the not yet canonized Hieromartyr Ragheed.

Saint Benedict of Nursia and Saint Augustine of Hippo are my favorite saints (Saint Benedict for his Rule and Saint Augustine for his Confessions).

St. Francis de Sales is a tremendously great saint, and too often overlooked.

Right now, I’d say Bl. Charles de Foucauld (after whom I’ve taken my screen name). Uncompromising, but with the softest of hearts. Fully convinced of the truth of his tradition and eager to proclaim it, but able to live in peace with his Muslim brothers.

St Padre Pio
St Faustina
St Theresa of Lisieux

Massive love for them. Eternal Rest grant unto them and may perpetual light shine upon them.
