Who is your favorite saint?

My personal patron saint would have to be St. Jude Thaddeus, but I also greatly admire and trust St. Francis. St. Jude has been my faithful intercessor and through his help God has given me many miracles. I also feel very close to St. Francis in that I have a deep love for nature and animals, and feel particularly close to God when I see the beauty of nature. What I admire so much about these saints is their humility, I pray that they help me become more humble and caring, and become as close to God as they are.

I feel the same as you about nature and animals and God. Along with Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross, I also love Francis of Assisi.👍

I do not know if she is my favorite. I do like St. Mary of Egypt - living as she pleased and she gave up all to love God. I do not like the particularly mystically bent ones. No offense. I like St. Rose of Lima - who would not want to be SO BEAUTIFUL that your beauty was a problem. I cannot relate to her. I love St. Pelagia the Penitent as well.

There is a saint who was converted after reading this Life of St Mary of Egypt, but I forgot his name. Can anybody remind me?

I have read Life of St Mary of Egypt thoroughly. She was like St Mary Magdalene.
