St Joseph, the just and the chaste, foster father and guardian of Jesus and of the holy Church.
 
St Thomas the apostle. I have always pictured him with a “pre-schooler” mind. “If Jesus is risen from the dead, then He will have holes in his hands and side and I can stick my fingers in them. Jesus, do your holes hurt?”
 
St. Peter, who, unlike Judas, did not give in to despair.

He was human with human failings but persevered up to the end and became the stone on which Jesus built His Church.

I would say Isaiah. His writings are fascinating and he saw the Lord high and lifted up.
 
It’s very hard to just pick one. I don’t think I can do it! St. John the Evangelist is certainly one that continues to inspire me through his version of the Gospel, which seems to be much more focused on the spiritual side of Jesus. And, for the same reasons, I have always had a special place in my heart for Mary Magdalen because of her great love for Jesus. I can just picture myself sitting with her at the foot of Jesus, with Martha complaining about both of us! I have always seen both of them as the great contemplatives among His followers, which is probably why I tend to gravitate toward them. But, then there’s St. Joseph…
 
Enoch and Elijah, because their incidents in scripture remind me of the Assumption:
As they walked on still conversing, a fiery chariot and fiery horses came between the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind

And I’ve always wanted to find out what happened to Eliezer of Damascus, who was almost Abraham’s heir.
But Abram said, “Lord GOD, what can you give me, if I die childless and have only a servant of my household, Eliezer of Damascus?”

Abram continued, “Look, you have given me no offspring, so a servant of my household will be my heir.”

Then the word of the LORD came to him: No, that one will not be your heir; your own offspring will be your heir

Aside from our precious Lord ofcourse, I feel relief when He speaks of forgiving sinners and seeks after them…the sinners in the New Testament actually make me feel a little better. A little relieved to know if He sought and forgave them than I have a chance.

I like the Centurion too, played by John Wayne in the film.

But my favorite is Eutychus. Young man who fell asleep during a long sermon by St. Paul, and fell out the the window.

I’ve been known to doze a bit from time to time so I can relate, and the story provides the explanation as to why the church no longer allows the faithful to sit on the window sills. BTW, this is something the Catholics and Protestants have in common, they don’t allow people to sit in their windows either.
 
Sorry to break the exempt rule that the OP imposed, but I can’t help it. It’s the Blessed Virgin Mary, hands down. She is without a doubt the finest, sweetest creature that God ever created. So by my way of thinking, she is exempt from being exempt. (whatever that means!) 🙂

lol. I hate it though when I feel like I’m in a storm with a whale but i don’t know what I’m supposed to do because that first part of the story was missing.
 
I love Jonah. I can relate to his reluctance. I love Peter from the Bible. Thomas is okay. Doubting Thomas. I love Mary of Magdalene.
 
I have to say St. Joseph. Strong, silent type. Love the guy!

I like the spouses from the Songs. Also the widow with the two coins was something I found memorable.

I find Job to be an upright fellow. He went through a lot and I only hope that if I get thrown as many curve balls as he was I could recover as well.

Although, you will notice that God took away Job’s children, his flocks, and his livelihood. Yet God did not take his wife from him. Hmmmm. 🤨
