Who is your favourite character from the bible?

I love Ruth and Esther for their humility and courage. Their stories are also really beautiful.

I also like David and Judith as the warriors of the Scripture, with David as the more standard warrior and Judith for espionage. Truly, Protestants are missing out by not having Judith.

There’s also St. Peter and St. Mary Magdalene. The former offers both comic relief and some decent good shows of faith and mercy. The latter shows the quiet devotion to Christ.

If I had to pick from all six, I’ll go with Esther, just because Esther is my favorite book.

My favotite is Martha. She was making sure the meal and the house were in perfect t order for her guests. Sure Mary was great, but let us give credit to the one who did the work! Martha , I am sure was listening to Jesus while attending to her duties!

Peter… though only slightly higher than Joseph.

Peter because he demonstrate his willingness to seek Jesus and jump for Jesus, even when he was fully ignorant of the Purpose. I see him in the light of that old song: “I’ll go wherever you will go.” Joseph? Well, he is introduced as a Just man that put’s the Virgin the child above his own emotions and needs.

Maran atha!

Angel

The Holy Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary are exempt from this.

I like the centurion that says “I am not worthy to receive you…”
I am a man but I do like Ruth in the Book of Ruth, which I often quoted as a model of faithfulness and how God honor those who were faithful to him. Ruth would be that person - from a humble beginning to be the ancestor of our Lord.

Could I say Jesus himself? I’m not saying this to be “holier than thou” or anything he just really is my favorite person from the Bible.

@help1: Last I checked, He was part of the Holy Trinity.

I’ll go with Simon Peter for his role in the Garden of Gethsemane. He had a sword, he drew it, and cut of Malchus’ ear. No surprise that he got the nod to be the first Pope. My kinda guy. If Malchus were coming for my Jesus, I would have taken the jerk’s head off, and a few more heads too.

Unless you were a fisherman who barely knew how to wield a sword. Then, like Peter, you’d miss the head and take off the ear.

Yeah, training is important. But then I can’t fish worth a darn.

He was part of it…but he wasn’t “the Holy Trinity”, was he? He was a part of it, not it. When the OP says you can’t say the Holy Trinity, do they mean you can’t say “the Holy Trinity” or a part of it? I’m slightly confused.

True, the OP wasn’t explicit enough, but I think most people took it that way or everyone would have said “Jesus.” No big deal, there’s no prize for this contest anyway…

I just assumed the OP made that rule so people couldn’t “cheat” and say three entities in one when they really just want you to pick one entity, lol.
