Sancta Maria Magdalena
Sancta Veronica
Sancta Bernadette ( Marie Bernarde )

St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Rose of Lima are my favorite saints.

:gopray:

I rely on many of them, so it’s not easy (or entirely accurate) to narrow it to a few. For the sake of brevity, I’ll say St Joseph, St Benedict of Nursia, St Francis of Assisi and St Pio.

But keep in mind I’m limiting it to four only for the purpose of the thread. 😉 I love reading about the lives of the saints, there are so many of them who inspire me.

All of them!! More particularly, though, Ss. Luke, Benedict, and Cecilia.

St. Joan of Arc She inspires me to follow the Lord even when He takes you in ways strange to society, to go where He leads and trust even when it seems ridiculous to do so, and to be brave in the courage of even death for what you believe in!

St. Thomas More. About the only argument I can use in defense of how it is possible to be catholic and want to become a lawyer. Only problem is people respond with, and what did they do to him.

Hehe - while Thomas More is by far the most famous Catholic lawyer, there are several others. As a (please GOD) :gopray2: soon-to-be law graduate meself, I know a thing or two about the topic 😉

You might want to try St Ivo:

On the non-saint side, here in the land of Oz we have a well-known human rights lawyer who is also a Jesuit priest - Father Frank Brennan. He’s related to our ex-Chief Justice of the highest court in the country, so it clearly runs in the genes.

Here’s a radio interview the good father did a few years ago:

Wow, that’s inspiring. 🙂

I don’t know if I have a “favorite” saint, but I have prayed to and been interested in St. Anne Line of England. She was a convert to the faith and was married but her husband died and then she devoted herself to helping Catholic priests in England during the times when Catholics were persecuted and even killed for not being Protestants. So I admire that she converted (like me) and was sort of alone and also trying to help others. She was ultimately sentenced to death. Unfortunately, I can never find a medal or even a portrait of her!

We are blessed to have so many saints available to us and we will get to meet them when we go to meet God. (At least I hope so)

Favorite Saints.

Well first off Let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Peter Collatin.

My confirmed name is: Patrick, and this ties in with my Scottish and then Irish roots.

But I would have to say my favorite saint is St. Nicholas. (also my father’s name, God rest his soul).

but you all can just call me emp

peace

Just a little aside…A Saint chooses you, not you choose the Saint, God brings you to them for them to pray for you, watch over you, help you and guide you and anyone in your heart that you love and by your devotion to them you give glory to God and therefore to all the communion of Saints…heaven is no resting place as we might think. 🙂

I agree with the posters that the saints are ALL fabulous…something to aspire to…

my favourites are

St. Martha (cos she was a house frau)
St Therese (the Little Flower…because she wrote about the littleness of everydayness…thats me)
St Calliope (an Eastern saint)
St Franscis de Sales

Hi blessedstar,

Where did you hear or read or learn that saints choose us? And that they watch over us and guide us? I’m curious and I’ve never heard that before. It sounds more like what our guardian angels do.

Thanks.
