Who listens to contemporary christian music here?

who listens to Christian music here??? I do. I listen to

I do, Holly! I listen to most, if not all of those on your list on our local radio station, plus Plumb and Sidewalk Prophets, too. I love Plumbs song, Need You Now.
 
How about Bethel Music? It’s not a band, but an umbrella used to promote Christian musicians?

I don’t know any of the new stuff, but I sometimes get nostalgic for some of the 80s-90s stuff I listened to back in my Assembly of God/Non-Denominational days. I’ve been on a Petra Praise and Michael Card kick recently. There was a stretch in the 90s when I bought everything by DC Talk, Petra, Newsboys, Guardian and Audio Adrenaline to name a few. That should give you an idea of the era I come from 🙂

I was introduced to CCM in the late '80s and bought my first album, Margaret Becker’s Immigrant’s Daughter, in August 1990. A large part of my CCM collection is therefore from that era. But I also have some more recent favorites, including Natalie Grant, Mandisa, TobyMac’s solo stuff, Kerrie Roberts, Britt Nicole, etc. And for those who like the “harder stuff”, I’m also a fan of Fireflight and Skillet.

there’s the regular one that’s more contemporary music, and there’s the worship show which is more traditional hymns, polyphony, chants

you guys should check it out, you might discover some songs or artists you didn’t know before. plus they’re catholic, which normal ccm stations don’t really play
 
I recently heard a young Christian female artist on our local Christian music station that captured my attention: Lauren Daigle. I looked her up on YouTube just to find out her approximate age because her voice sounded “old yet young”; sort of like Adele. Her song “How Can This Be?” hits me deep in my soul and I tend to tear up even though I’m not prone to crying during songs or movies! Quite powerful lyrics and vocal performance!
 
I don’t. I can’t stand it. It all sounds the same and I find a lot of the lyrics have subtle sola fide and sola gratia theology in them so I have to avoid it lest I become a heretic.

I love that podcast! My favorites are Alverlis, Of the Tower, & Army of Me.

some of them do, but not all of them… actually alot of them is neutral when it comes to CAtholic or Prostant… at least it is that way for the songs I like anyway… Ipod
 
was it at the midland center for the arts in midland??? 2 of my friends on facebook went one of my facebook friends is a priest

What’s funny about this is, when I was growing up in my non-denominational, “Word of Faith” church, people in my family didn’t like some of the CCM because it talked too much about suffering.
