do you guys know about the cathlic playlist?

it’s a podcast that plays only catholic artists

catholicplaylist.podbeam.com

ther’es a new one every week.

there’s the regular one that’s more contemporary music, and there’s the worship show which is more traditional hymns, polyphony, chants

you guys should check it out, you might discover some songs or artists you didn’t know before. plus they’re catholic, which normal ccm stations don’t really play
I was listening to it pretty regularly for a while and found a couple new artists I like. I need to start listening to it again. I have a fairly decent collection of CCM. Matt Maher’s my favorite. I mostly listen to Catholic artists but I have a few other favorites as well. Of the non-Catholic artists I listen to, Kari Jobe is probably my favorite.

Support Catholic musicians!

The National Catholic Register just put out a great article about a few Catholic musicians.

Someone else mentioned this but seriously, go check out The Catholic Playlist (www.catholicplaylistshow.com), you will find tons of really great Catholic musicians on there.

One of the problems that Catholic Musicians have in the Christian Music world is that it is largely protestant and deals with protestant themes and takes from protestant hymns. Also, many songs in the contemporary music world are made to use in worship and Catholics do not really have the freedom to have that exposure.
It is odd that in over 2000 years of musical traditions where we have produced some of the most famous and intricate worship music, we find ourselves in a drought in modern musical styles and artists.
I prefer the classical or traditional anyway.🤷
