I freely admit to having to turn my head during some of the more intense RK battle moments. And as much as I loved the original FMA, it wasn’t bedtime fare.

Your mileage may vary.
To be honest, the only thing I looked away when reading a manga or watching an anime was the eclipse from Berserk. When I did see it, I felt empty for the rest of the evening.

Say guys, do you think it would be appropriate if a new thread were to start seeing as the OP got banned?

I just saw the second the last episode of the new Hayate anime. So far, the series has been a mixed bag. The good stuff first: the animation is great and lovely, the characters are the lovable ones we know and while the anime is more serious than even the second season and the manga, it still had it’s funny moments and there was a ton of great character development in Nagi which was really believable. Speaking of funny stuff I think this season had some of the funniest jokes Hayate ever had. It actually made me laugh at Fumi’s antiques.

Now the bad stuff: one, the anime is FAR too short at 12 episodes and because of this the second half of the season feels really, really rushed. It decreases the impact that touching moments like SPOILER: Hayate quitting and his eventual recovery. There was also the padding; no, not filler, padding. Although the first 6 episodes didn’t exactly advance the plot, they were really interesting and enjoyable, especially the ones where they all spent doing nothing but talk about anime. That episode was very, very well done. But alas, the padding. Most anime have what we call eyecatches; they are those really short clips that come at the end and beginning of each half of an episode to show that the commercials are starting up. Sometimes they just show a picture of one of the show’s characters or a key event that jsut happened accompanied by some words or music. Sometimes, they just show the show’s logo in a corner until the screen fades to black. The enw Hayate anime didn’t do this; it had to show two annoying clips of some pretty lame jokes in the first six episodes and to make it worse, the first six episodes even had Hayate talk to the audience about what was going to happen in the episode as if they didn’t understand what was going on and these beginning clips would go on for about a minute.

Then there were those short bits with Ruka talking cryptically about the menaing of the events that were happening and I found those bits really out of place in a show like Hayate.

The biggest problem the enw Hayate has is that unlike the first or second seasons, it is not going to appeal to first time fans; the anime does not stand on it’s own and in order to understand it you have to be a fan of the manga. In fact, you HAVE to be a fan of the manga in order to enjoy it as many characters and events that haven’t transpired in the frst two seasons are only referenced and not fully explored in this season.

Overall, the new Hayate had a lot of potential to be an excellent, excellent anime; it had a lot of great and even ingenuis ideas but overall, it failed because of the subpar delivery. I mean come on, how are they going to wrap everything that just happened in a satisfactory way in episode 12? I don’t deem it very possible. Overall, as an anime I’d give it a 4 out of ten for bad. However, as a fan of the manga I give it a 7 out of ten. It’s good but the lousy delivery killed it. it should have had more episodes and a slower apce because if it did, I’d have rated it much higher.

Just saw the last episode of the enw Hayate. It was very, very good. Same things I said about it in my last post however, this episode was really, really sweet, something that Hayate was always excellent at. I only wished the anime was longer you know but overall, it was pretty good. Above average but only falling short of the last two anime and the manga simply because of the rushed pace. I give it a 7 out of ten.

Even though I am really, really anti-communist I have to admit this song is really awesome and makes me want to watch the anime: youtube.com/watch?v=PgweofjxZCU

Merry Christmas everyone! And thanks for the video Crescentius!

P.S. Seeing as Christmas didn’t turn out very good for us this year, I decided to make a small Christmas Doraemon statue to cheer us all up and my family loved it. I want to show it you guys but I do’t have any pictures but I’ll post them soon.

A new Hayate no Gotoku season has been announced for April! Yes! I also found this: sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/557268_514014145298110_1634435802_n.jpg

Saw the first episode of swordartonline. Will continue to see the series, definitely.

:clapping:

I’ve started reading what comes after the anime. The Gun Gale Online arc continues to be just as awesome as what those awesome 25 episodes have managed to cover. 😃

Season 3!! Season 3!!! X3

LW, without spoiling anything in the anime at all, is it really that good? Is it really deep? Personally, I loved the first episode, it had a great set up and said a lot of things without showing them. Does it end properly or is there a cliffhanger for season 3 or something? Honestly, a lot of anime adaptations of manga end so premmaturely like Berserk and even Rurouni Kenshin and most egreguosly Fruits Basket and Elfen Lied. It’s horrible.

Say guys, whats the worst anime you have ever seen? To name a few they have to be:

Seto no Hanoyome: while the main female lead was cute, the anime had a lot of very lame jokes revolving around a guy who got engaged to a girl being the target of murder by the girl’s father. Most of the characters were really obnoxious and annoying and the make lead himself could be a big jerk sometimes. 4/10.

Fruits Basket:: Here’s my opinion on both the anime and manga: anime-blasphemy. Manga-greatest shojo and romance manga ever. The anime of Fruits Basket was too overtly sweet and childish and seemed to have much mor eexcessive comedy than is normal for a shojo to have. It also ended too prematurely, removing a TON of the character development found in the manga. 5/10.

Perfect Blue: What? A Satoshi Kon film is on my list of worst anime ever? Yes, thats right. In my opinion, Perfect Blue sucks because of it’s shoddy execution and the ending. It started out good buttit became really confusing anhad to follow anhen came the ending… the ending is one of the worst, most anti-climactic and non-sensical twist endings I have ever seen. It had absolutely no buildup and just ca out of nowhere. 5/10.

School Days: In the end we have School Days, in my opinion the truly wst anime ever. It was nothing but exploitative rubbish, the anime alternative to a point and laugh show ala the Jerry Springer Show. You’re expected to see a group of people destroy their lives only to recieve what is purported to be themost ‘shocking’ ending in all of anime history. In reality, the ending is horrible in a so bad it’s good way. I give it a 1/10.

Nope (it’ll only feel like that if you were following it while it was still ongoing like me XD). I would wager the books would sound ‘deeper’ from what I’ve read of the Gun Gale arc but the anime is still veeeeeery good and veeeeery romantic. 😛

Thats too bad LW but I saw the second episode and it looks good so far although I’m not getting engaged in it as I wanted to.

Today, I saw the first two episodes of Gurren Lagann. How were they? GREAT. They honestly make me very hyped up for the series as it looks like its going to be one of the greatest things I will ever see. Has anone ehre seen Gurren Lagan?

I haven’t seen the anime but (I don’t mean to sound discouraging) but I wasn’t to interested in it even after having read vol.1 & watched JesuOtaku’s review of the anime. To think that it’s on-going though tells you something.Maybe it’s worse or better then I thought it is ;).

I finished watching all of Ghost in the shell:stand alone complex and caught up with KR Wizard recently.I’m ready to move on to 2nd Gig when I again have the time.Thinking back now if I decided on my GITS,Shemue,Tekken inspired sotry I really should have taken down notes during SAC to help flesh out the corporate warfare, espionage, hi-tech of Tekken and as well as for giving it politics that work out with a vibe of realism at least. It’s just that good of an example of that stuff. For me at least.

Oh it feels GGEEERRR-RREEAATTT to have finally caught up to where the manga is currently at with 290 chapters.Recently Fujishima’s shading & such has really improved to the point where it’s almost like a clip straight out of an animated version of it (wait…I’m not sure if that’s a good thing -_-).Recently it turns out that when silly Archie.oh my mistake I mean *Keiichi *😃 made that contract with Belldandy long ago there was a heavenly restriction on sexual desire placed on him which is why for so many of these yrs they’ve hardly ever gotten really close (since gods and humans aren’t supposed to have relations). What’s more the “interspecies intimacy inquisiter” is none other then Skuld and Belldandy’s mom;Ansuz (bottom panel).

They both got to pass through the stuff in that gate that’ll test there love (seems to be a cue taken from the 2k movie that I didn’t like to much).Right now it seems that there in the reliving the lives of the first goddess and male human who fell in love.I’m really hoping that this manga doesn’t go beyond a 550 chapter mark b/c after that…I think it would have some explaining to do -_-.

Well since I’m finally caught up with it I can safely be in sync by only tuning in every few weeks or so and can focus on my other multiple chapter on-going mangas like Historie,Vinland saga,Tekken Chinmi legends etc.Happy remaining holidays everyone

Say guys, do any of you practice a martial art or kendo? I myself am a kendo beginner having started last september or so and personally I’m LOVING it. Dad even bought me a bokken for christmas with it’s own sheathe and a cotton wrapping around the handle. Can’t wait to recieve it in the mail. Because of it, I’m getting more physically fit and my back which was always slouching to one side has gotten utterly straight because of it. In general I’m becoming more disciplined and oranized in my life with a lot of help from Mary. Immaculate of course.

P.S. What made me, a guy who never practiced or was ever interested in any sport in his entire life actually join such a physically demanding sport? Firstly it was because of Rurouni Kenshin, the anime’s philosophy and the main characters and secondly, it was because of the Kenichi manga with it’s philosophies and great characters that isnpried me to join a dojo. So any of you guys martial artists? I personally am aiming to be as tough as Guts from Berserk if that is possible:D.

That’s all right, even I only started getting immersed around episode 4-5. If you like love stories though, the series gets better from there. 😃
