Hey guys, what do you think of Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple? Personally, I think it’s very, very good, as in Rurouni Kenshin levels of good. It seems cliched but it ISN’T. I can’t believe it hasn’t caught on as much as One Piece and Naruto as it truly is very well written with some great characters. Oh my gosh, I have never had this much fun watching or reading an anime or manga since Rurouni Kenshin and FullMetal Alchemist. If you are a shonen fan who loves very good fight scenes but with complex stories, great characters and overall a well written story, Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple is for you.
 
It’s sad that the Korean animation industry rarely goes international, or even beyond the children’s demographic.

I have many figures. I ought to go dig up some photos. At the moment, I have 63.

At this point, I’m awaiting what the Fall season will bring. My Summer shows are winding down.

Also, I’m thinking about watching Otome Yokai Zakuro again. Great show.
 
But this takes the cake. Rozen Maiden Suiginto. $15,5K LOL I think the original Volks event price was 70,000 Yen (approx $750).

Not meaning to sound rude or anything you guys, whats the appeal of buying those figurines? They are pretty and cute but they’re not something I would buy. I’d rather buy a statue of Guts in his Berserker armor and put it on a stand where everyone can see it like this:

COOOOOOOOOLLLL. If anyone saw that statue, they’d become more manly even if they were a woman! In fact, they’d change gender it is so manly!



In fact, I’m going to make a statue of Guts just because there is so much to work with. I’ll post a picture of it when I’m finished.
 
It’s known as personal taste and even Catholicism allows for it. 😉

Haha, but everyone has tastes and everyone has an obsession with one or other show. Some people really love Rozen Maiden, hence some dude is offering a Rozen Maiden doll for $15.5K.

I’m personally a big Sakura Taisen fan. It was one of my favourite shows, I watched the first 4 OVA eps way back when and really loved the show - and I also own two soundtracks from the series as well as the TV series and a movie - the singing is really of high quality. It’s almost Broadway quality and definitely not something common to average games or cartoons. The idea that a group of singers can sing by day and fight demons by night using steam punk mechas is nifty and different to the typical macho Western lore we’re used to. Of course none of these shows are really thought provoking entertainment - they’re pretty puerile but so is 99% of television and film. Sakura Wars also does not contain any nudity as far as I can remember, that’s another bonus.

And who doesn’t love kimonos? eh?

Of course it does. The nice thing about most animes is that they’re not nearly as bad as Western stuff. There are some dodgy animes (a minority) but most I would say are not a bad influence. :).

I saw a Japanese interview with passers-by about Miku. All the Westerners thought her voice was too high in tone, while the locals loved her. She does have a tinny voice and of a bit excessive tone, but that’s what makes her ethnically different and even likeable. I’d take Hatsune Miku over Lady Gaga any day. 😉

This reminds me of a line from MST3K’s TERROR AT PARTY BEACH where a brooding hero looks at a group of dancing party goers on a beach and the woman next to him is dubbed to say “Oh that’s called “fun”.”

SF-A2 Miki has an even tinier voice, and I prefer her over the likes of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj any day. :3
