I was going through my country’s government website and came across the “religion” forum. The question of the original post was:

Would anyone know how we got the Apostle’s Creed?
One poster said:Why do we stay as CATHOLICS?
Does a Catholic who disagrees with the Pope, no longer Catholic?." (sic)
Catholic refers to a universal church; as we say in our creed:
“I believe in the holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting”.
.This is not the creed of the Church of Rome, but the Apostles’ Creed of the Church of England. The Church of England is Catholic (by ministry) and reformed/Protestant (by the 39 articles). So, yes, one can be a catholic and not have any truck with the pope, the Vatican or anything else associated with that wretched organisation. I think the (Anglican) Church of England does have a province in the RP; it’s called, if my memory serves me correctly, the Episcopal Church of the Philippines
