We have quite a number of surviving early Christian ‘apocryphal’ literature: both ‘heretical’ ones and ‘orthodox’ ones. But the question is, who exactly read them back then?

There’s a lot of them in Vol. 8 of the Ante-Nicene Fathers, which I’m plodding thru right now. So, yeah, I’m reading them.
