ok, I agree with your last paragraph enough…but as for the death thing, I thought I made the suggession that though death of creatures other than Adam and Eve must have occured, any creature, humaniod or whatever type, could not sin, they would have been like animals in their ignorance of good or evil…of course they died, I don’t think that’s relevant, BUT, Adam and Eve would have been the first true Human Beings, created by God to live in paradise on earth as His beloved children, apparantly, never to die, however…you know the rest. My point in bringing up your view of communion is that though Christ said “This is my body” regarding the bread at the last supper, you do not believe that the bread is actually His body during communion. He did say specifically that it was though, and although the real presence of Christ in the holy eucharist isn’t the main topic, it seems that literal interpretation of holy scripture is the main issue, you claiming that if you don’t believe that the earth was made in 6 24 hour days, then God was not telling us the truth through Genesis or whatever…anyways, maybe we can debate this in heaven someday…hope to see ya thereActually the physical differences between human beings are less than 2%. We are 98+% the same and it does not take a long time to get the differences that there are.
The fact that an historical event has spiritual truth behind it does not mean it did not happen as recorded.
I didn’t answer your question because I did not see how it related to this discussion. If you must know, I view communion as a blood covenant meal but that does not require a physical change in the bread and wine.
As far as the 6,000 years not mattering, you haven’t addressed the fact that the millions of years idea contradicts the Bible’s statements that death came after sin - not before it. If you have death before sin you do away the reason Christ died. That IS important in every age.
And what you believe about the past will affect how you live in the present and what you hope for in the future. How much violence to we have today because people have been taught that they are just the result of mindless evolution instead of being taught they were created in the image of God with great value?
