I think I posted on another thread or two that I had a flu/bad cold back in mid-February that had atypical symptoms that in retrospect seriously resembled those of COVID-19. Headache, fever, night sweats and chills, severe fatigue, severe sore throat, and dry cough. At the time I had been living in a monastery for about one month, but it’s a popular monastery with lots of tourist throughput. One of the jobs I held there was as afternoon porter, so I had lots of interaction with the general public. On the other hand, I had no breathing issues; I was able to scale the five tall floors to my cell multiple times a day without being short of breath but much slowed by fatigue. It felt more like a flu than a cold, but I did have my flu shot last fall.
The earliest confirmed case in Québec was oddly in late February after a friendly hockey game by men in their 50s and up. Several got severely ill (all survived), and it was traced back to travel.

I do believe there’s a possibility that this virus was lurking among us much earlier than thought (probably in China too) but it hadn’t yet been identified, being chalked up to a flu of varying degree of severity. A French hospital identified retrospectively identified its first case on Dec. 27 (see article)…
