Depends on the type of miracles you are asking about. Miracles are happening everyday, some people see/notice them and ascribe them as miracles sent from God and some people ignore them or decide they are just random occurrences/coincidences and don’t see the miraculous nature of God being present in them.

Agreed! Hi DB!

I think all of us have indeed received miraculous occurrences in our lives…most people think miracles have to be BIG HUGE EARTHSHATTERING DEFY SCIENCE type things.
A miracle can be a tiny spark of love in hardened heart. ❤️

Peace!

Tzimisce took the words right out of my Mouth :** “Whoever God chooses to give them to, I guess.”**

God does what God wants to do.

Others have talked about everyday Miracles, and I have my share of them : I find the PERFECT Parking Spot (the car backs out right ahead of me) . . . I think of someone (and think about what I would like to say), and the Phone rings (and there he is).

My MAIN criterion for calling an event a Miracle is its Timing.
If I want something to happen, and it DOES, right then, that’s a Doozie.
Or, if 2 seemingly un-Related events happen in VERY close proximity (and I see a Connection), then THAT’s a Miracle too.

Each time something interesting happens, that seems like Perfect timing, I quickly say, "Thank you, Jesus."
This way, if it IS a little Miracle from God, I am properly thanking Him for the Favor (and, opening the Door to more occurring).
And, if it’s NOT a Miracle (something I will NEVER know), then it’s nice that this thing happened (without His help), and reminds me of God and His loving presence.

The same thing happens when a Lousy thing happens, and the Timing makes me suspect a Miracle.
Even if the event is pretty-darn awful, I quickly offer my Thanks to Jesus.
This (in addition to being grateful to God) makes putting up with the consequences of the event a whole lot easier.
Then, my pain is Spiritual pain . . . which I will offer up Happily to God.
When I do this, it’s sort of like in the Blues Brothers movie : “We’re on a Mission for God.”
This allows me to playfully go about doing what I have to, in order to get things back to “Normal.”
And as I work, I thank Jesus Christ for this opportunity to Show how much I Respect and Honor God.

Jesus tells us how to ask:

Anyone can ask for a miracle. I have received them and so have others I know. And there are accounts of recent miracles recognized by the Church.

Thanks and praise to you, O Lord,

Ed

Im curious how many people that have asked for a miracle felt as though they had received it in some way.

The gentleman who said that he gets miracles like finding the perfect parking space should have his mouth washed out before he is sent to read about our saints.

Miracles happen to those God chooses to give them to. This can be direct of through the prayer of another person by means of mediation.

There are various degrees of miracles. A second degree miracle is something that an angle or a devil could do. Like to move a mountain. All things that a angel can do a man can do but we have to do it in a human way and they can do it in an angelic way. We move a mountain one shovel at a time. It there is any way for man to accomplish the task then it cannot be considered to be from God alone.

A first degree miracle can only be performed by God and must be impossible scientifically. It must contravene the laws of physics or science. For cures it must be outside the laws of medicine and also be instantaneous.

All saints must be credited with mediating in at least one first degree miracle in life and at least two additional first degree miracles after death. Archbishop Fulton Sheen recently had a miracle credited to him.

I myself have at least two or three first degree miracles that were by my mediation but I don’t expect that anyone will ever be involved in working on my canonization. I’m not that kind of guy, I’m a nobody.

Thank you for enlightening us on mirracle types. I found it very interesting. Although the information you provided gives us clues on who can perform mirracles, can you help us discern who is worthy to recieve mirracles.

There doesn’t seem to be any criteria for who can receive miracles. Sometimes holy people receive them. Sometimes they are given to someone who doesn’t even believe so that they might believe. It seems like Jesus healed people at will. He didn’t ask the lepers which one of them was deserving or not.

And therein lies the problem, there doesn’t seem to be any agreement on how to detect a miracle or even what one is. Depending on who’s definition you use I have seen either thousands of miracles, a handful, or none. If a term is that vague then I question if it really means anything any more.
