Who to invite for hoidays

I know we’re supposed to show Christian love to everyone. But where’s the line between “love the sinner” and “avoid bad company”? I know Jesus ate with sinners but He ate with them to call them to repentance, not condone them in their sin. So, do we invite the gay could over for Christmas dinner but not the “funny” uncle who likes little boys? The couple who’s living together but not the cousin who’s openly cheating on his wife? Just curious.

You invite the people you care about, your family, the ones you love regardless of where they are in their lives. Christmas is a time of peace on earth and goodwill toward all men, at least for the one day of the year. It’s a day to set aside all differences.

Not differences involving being a “funny” uncle who likes little boys. Let’s learn.

I have already invited Catholics to my unbelieving Christmas along with two lesbians, several heterosexual couples, one Hindu, and two vegetarians one of whom has recently become a vegan but has been seen eating fish. We all get along fine and there seems little risk of us acquiring any of each other’s world views.

I don’t have a theoretical problem with people excluding others from their homes because of their beliefs or lifestyle but in my experience it does tend to wreck family ties.
