Who will read a thread whose title is more than 25,500 words on CAF and is really about nothing and only seems to be here in order to incite some sort

I checked the last box. It seemed like the only choice that made as much sense as the poll 😃

Seriously, JimmyB enjoys discussing and defending his faith. There is no fault in that. He also likes to bring up issues that he sees as important. Again, I cannot fault him for that. Are his titles too long? Usually. Can his threads lack Charity? Sometimes.

The important thing to remember is that it is his approach. If you do not like it, ignore the threads. If you want to discuss the topic in a different manner, make a new thread. Some of the things that he discusses, or wants to discuss, are good things to talk about on here. It would be a shame if no one mentioned them at all.
 
My problem with his approach it that it’s dishonest and sets up strawmen every time. He already has the answers when he asks the questions.

Can this be Christian apologetics? To me, it’s more like hit-and-run proselytizing and sheep-stealing.

Why not reach out and convert those who do not know Christ at all? There are plenty out there. Jimmy’s certainly got the energy.

That would be a novel idea for them and one, I am sure, they would never engage in. It would require more effort than posting blithering attacks on an internet forum against Protestants.

I agree that most people I run into that aren’t going to Church do not follow Sola Scriptura or anything else. They do have false notions about the Church. This help me brush on our teachings to be able to relate it to them.
 
I’m not sure how we got to talking about JimmyB. But I love the poll question.

I know there was a thread titled something like “Why do Protestants think they know about Catholicism, but they really don’t know anything about it?”
 
**People, lay off JimmyB and return to what this forum is truly about, and that is discussion of religions of all kinds. If half of you spent as much time in answering the questions from Catholics here instead of bickering about ‘who has the longest posts’, (which by the way, the name of this thread is awfully long), you’d learn something.
Protestants, if this is how you answer questions from Catholic members by starting threads that have nothing to do with the topics, well, then, it just proves you have no answers and your souls are empty. **
 
Another interesting thread title is “Protestants: Doesn’t it bother you that your religion is of man-made origin?”

Since you’ve been talking about it a lot, Peter. I would suggest, as a thread title, “Orthodox: Does it bother you that you created schism and are no longer part of the true church?”
