Who will win American Idol??

Which is another reason I like Jordin, because she is pretty but she’s not a bag of bones. That girl’s got curves! Not to mention an amazing voice and a wonderfully bubbly personality. I really like Blake too, in fact I was hoping it would come down to those two, so I shall be abstaining from voting this year because I just can’t choose between them. I think they both have bright careers ahead of them, and I believe Melinda does too. She’s got a lot of talent, her style just isn’t what sells records anymore. But I have a feeling that she’s going to get plenty of record deals to choose from, and she can do her own thing without Clive Davis and Co forcing their will on her. In a way, she did win after all. Look what not being stuck in a contract did for Chris Daughtry! 👍
 
I was surprised, but not shocked. Like I said, there is a backlash going on against “older” American Idols. Melinda is a mature woman and I think a lot of young people said, “I want a YOUNG idol!”

Melinda will do well in album sales. I think she’ll end up opening for some of the big R and B acts, and eventually others will open for HER.

Is anyone planning to go to the Idol Tour this year? I think it sounds fun.
 
Melinda was voted off. I think she was the best in the group. How I think that happened the American public in general thought she would win so they voted between the other two so their second favorite would be i the finals. I think alsot did that and Melinda wasnt covered. Jordan is great too. I like Blake but I dont think his voice is as good as the other two.

Well, when you think about it, who’s doing all the voting? The younger people are the ones sitting there on the phone voting for hours, and so they get to choose who wins. How many adults do you know who have the time or inclination to sit and vote repeatedly? So - the young ones win. 🤷

I’m really sad that Melinda didn’t make it to the end - she truly has the most talent of the three, though all are quite good, she would be my choice to win. Oh well.

I think the Vote For the Worst people also got their votes out in force for Blake as that was their guy. I don’t know what kind of call volume they generate but it may have been enough to make a difference in a close vote.
 
I don’t think Blake is the worse. I think he’s extremely creative. Both he and Jordin need some voice coaching.

I saw a report about Josh Groban a few days ago. The man has been taking voice lessons for eight years now. If HE needs voice lessons, we all do.

And Rene Fleming, the great opera singer who has done so much to make opera appealing to the “regular” person: she still takes voice lessons.

So I’m not insulting Blake and Jordin by saying they need training.

Blake especially has no idea how to move into a high register. He needs work on that break of his, so that he isn’t forced to use a throat voice to sing high (or break into beat-boxing to cover up for his lack of high register). If he doesn’t learn to sing correctly, in a few more years, he won’t have a voice left. But I think he has the ability–he just needs a coach to train him.

Our family always votes - here’s our tip - dial as soon as they start giving the recap - you’ll have about 20 seconds to get through. By the time Ryan finishes and says the official “the lines are open” it usually too late & you’ll have to keep redialing all night.

I think Melinda got the boot because although she has a GREAT voice - she is a bit… boring. Sorry - I’ve said it… she was boring to watch - no excitment - maybe she is a shy sort of person? I just didn’t feel any personality coming through.

If has been an odd season - remember the girl who wore the REALLY short skirts & shorts that got shorter as the weeks went on? Gosh if she hadn’t been voted off, I fear she would’ve been naked by now?

This is the first year I have ever seen this program, it is rather addicting.
My personal favorites have been Melinda and Jordin, now that Melinda has been eliminated I will be rooting for Jordin.
Jordin is very talented.
I have been watching the program American Idol Rewind which follows the show’s first season.
I was blown away by the incredible talent and infectious personality of it’s ultimate winner Kelly Clarkson.She can sing mst any kind of music including Pop,Rock, Ballads,Jazz and even music from the Big band era.
It is a fun show.

Doggone it! I fast from CAF on Wednesday, so I didn’t see this until now. I think Jordin will win. I love Melinda, though, and will be first in line for her new CD. Blake is pretty cool, and has a shot, but all in all I think Jordin will be the new AI.
 
For all of you who think the American public are against older idols remember Taylor Hicks won it last year at 29 and with gray hair.
