Who witnessed the Agony in the Garden?

If Jesus was off by Himself praying and everyone fell asleep, does anyone know how the story got passed on? Just curious. I realize there are lots of ways it could have happened, I’m not doubting the validity just curious what we know historically.

Jesus, the Angel sent to comfort Him and the Apostles (including John) that were with Him. Also remember, He stayed with the Apostles for 40 days after the Resurrection, so He could have told John about it then.

Anything written in Scripture that did not have any witnesses there to orally pass down what they saw or heard is simply anwered by the fact that the Holy Spirit inspired the authors of Scripture to write them down. For those details that did not have a human there to “validate” it had something, or better yet SOMEONE much better, that is the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, all Scripture is validated by the Holy Spirit whether humans passed them down to one another or not. Humans are prone to error, but not the Holy Spirit.

Correct me if I’m wrong and Yes the Holy Spirit inspired the authors to write what the Apostles experienced during Christ’s life and after Jesus rose from the dead.

(“Some”) of such material must have been written and related by the more educated Apostles. There were transcripts of handwriting by some of the Apostles which today exist in the Vatican Archives.

This is news to me. Like Patrick I would like you to please explain. What exactly is in the Archives?
What is your source to support this claim?
 
I know this isn’t evidence, but for those of us who have seen the Passion of the Christ, watch that scene at the very beginning closely. The Gospels do not say that Peter, James, and John fell asleep immediately. It’s possible that once they no longer heard Jesus speaking that they then dozed off. Also, when Jesus found them sleeping, the Gospels do say whether they woke up or not. Personally, I doubt when Jesus said, “Could you not keep watch for one hour with me?” that he was talking to three sleeping apostles.

My mistake sorry. I thought there were some old fragments of writings on papyrus from some of the apostles found and kept safe in the Vatican archives and studied by historians.

I was thinking more about surviving Greek and Latin manuscripts contained in the Codex Vaticanus, Codex Sinaiticus , and Codex Alexandrinus.

My apologies.
