Sorry gang but I cant seem to find my topic,Who would you believe" For all those whom took the time and replied,Thank you!
to answer "mikijam’'s last question to me,
"How did you come to this conclusion, that most people don’t think they’re worthy? Hunh? No one in the above posts said anything about not feeling worthy. God talks to me all the time. Through prayer, through meditation, and yes, through church. Why would He say anything that would contradict His church?

The fact is, we can all be deceived. If I had a ‘vision’ that contradicted the fullness of truth revealed through the Church that Jesus founded, then I would know that it is a deceipt, designed to separate me from the Body of Christ which is the Church.

It sounds like the old “can God make a rock so big even He can’t lift it” question.

Let me turn the tables: If you read the bible and interpreted a scripture passage differently than the rest of your church, who would you believe?

-Peace

The way came to conclusion that most people do not trust their own souls is because I have asked this question on a lot of forums and 95% say the same thing.nothing different here.

and your last question about who would I listen to,my answer is,“ME”. My spirit. The church is taught by man and can be mis-interpreted by man and has been.
Its like I dont Pray to Mary or any othe Saints except to God through Jesus, We are all just taught differently but your spirit knows the truth.

When you listen to “ME”, you are still being taught by man since you are a “man”. You’re just choosing which “man” you’ll accept as the most reliable teacher/interpreter - yourself or church leaders.

Storm,

If a Protestant interpreted a Scripture differently than their church it wouldn’t bother them one bit. Their pastors or church groups have no more or no less right to teach than the person in the pew. If they don’t like what they hear from the pew they can simply pack up and move to the church down the street or if they don’t like that option – start your own church.

Catholics have the confidence that the God’s holy Church cannot and willnot lead believers astray. That’s why we can be sure that when the Church says a vision doesn’t contradict teachings we can be sure it doesn’t. Protestants have no such assurance, nor do they desire any such assurance when they study Scripture.
