John the Baptist would not have been able to write Revelation. He didn’t have the head for writing.

Ba-dum-dum-dum Crash!

Interestingly enough, on another thread a while back, someone was blasting the Catholic concept of Tradition. So I asked him, "Who wrote Revelation?"

He gave me a quick response, “John wrote Revelation, of course!”

And I asked, “*Which *John?”

And he came back with, “John the Apostle, of course!!”

And I asked, “How do you know it was John the Apostle?”

And I haven’t heard from him since.😛

St. John the Apostle but it is interesting that some scholars even today suggest St. John the Baptist (J. Masyngberde Ford) and Eusebius of Caesarea thought it was a John the Elder. But most ancient and modern scholars concur that it was the Apostle. It is interesting how much he draws of Jewish Apocalyptic. That flavor is much stronger there than in any of his other writings.

Today it is sad that so many have forgotten how to worship and so don’t realize that the book is principly a book of worship.
