Dear Reen,
I have had the privilege of meeting Him in that green pasture once many years ago in prayer, I saw Him and He saw me and bid come to be by His side. I was so taken aback!! He looked right at me, and waved for me to come closer to Him. I can still see his face now. His smile, would change all things! !

In a related story, it so happens that this green pasture is also the home of Ferdinand the bull.

I don’t know if you know of him, I met him when i read his story to my kids. It turned out to be one of my favorites.

Oh my goodness, sawman. In 1974 I took part in some photography lesssons,
and that’s when I heard of Ferdinand - and who could not love Ferdinand?

howardlowery.com/auction/Lot_011/lot_11_large.html

Sitting in a field of flowers, sniffing away - just after he ran out of the bull ring.
Those who would have Ferdinand keep his mind on the “business at hand” -
to coffee up and focus - we’re talking to themselves, as far as Ferdinand was concerned.

Dear Reen, some how I knew you had probobly heard of my friend Ferdinand.

He would just sit under the cork tree and sniff the flowers.

Today this thread has been a most wonderful “toy” for me.

God has all kinds of ways

To give us gifts

To combine memories and new friends and praise for His Awesomeness!!

All in one place

Dear Rammy,

I thought about you wanting to know more about the quote I had in a previeous post"self-perception is not a requirement, only God’s awareness of us is necessary."

I can’t remember where I read that, but at the time I was struggling with a conundrum of moderns. I call it the navel-gazing syndrome. So much of modern life is based on what we think of ourselves, ad nauseam. When I realized that my opinion of just about anything you want name is not worth a bucket of warm spit. That’s when it occurred to me that IT’S not about ME!

Nothing about what is ultimately real has anything to do with what I think about it.

All that matters in the end, or the beginning for that matter, is what He thinks about it. Or me. As the case may be.

I hope that helps.

To know Ferdinand, is to love Ferdinand. 🙂

You know, sawman, what you wrote brought insight.
We can only open the toys that God gives,
when we are not so wrapped up in ‘self’ - like a kitten in a ball of twine.

We will insist! on “keeping our eye on the ball,” or the matador -
as the case may be. http://bestsmileys.com/fainting/1.gif
  • neglecting the toy offered. Like a toddler, who needs to put
down his teddy bear, to hold the ice cream cone in both hands.
He wants to do both. 🙂
Sometimes I think that God must see us this way.

“I want to give her this gift - but I can’t give it to her -
until she chooses to set down what she’s holding onto,
for dear life.”

God is a very patient God. http://bestsmileys.com/nono/9.gif

OMgoodness, i just lost my HUGE post trying to cut it in half…it was too big…

What does this mean…of course the difference of the notion an angel has but two wings, like a bird is the first thought i see a difference in. However, being closer to our Lord, i wondered the reason for the veiling gestures as a whole. I believe Angels are Born anges, and we do not become angels in heaven. So, this act of veiling i wonder how it is used in this situation. If they were never human , why veil…is it out of respect, or shame. I am not questioning this, just trying to completely understand it.
We hear of the Seraphim from the words of the prophet Isaiah,
in the Hebrew Scriptures [Old Testament.]

content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/9/95/250px-Seraphim_-_Petites_Heures_de_Jean_de_Berry.jpg

In the year king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne,
with the train of His garment filling the temple.
Seraphim were stationed above; each of them had six wings:
with two they veiled their faces, with two they veiled their feet,
and with two they hovered aloft.

If you will read the 2nd paragrah, which begins with “In Holy Writ…”
on the following website, I am in the hope that this will provide
sufficient information, about the Seraphim.

newadvent.org/cathen/13725b.htm

I hope that I have answered your question, Lana.

🙂 Yet an angel is a being created by God -as we were created, too.
Angels are of titanic might - nearly beyond human ability to comprehend -
that such a stupendous being, could be a creature, not a god.

Does this not give us hope and confirmation that heaven will be so much more, that we can not even comprehend. I think we as a soul will be somewhere in between these creatures some how, somewhere in our futures. There will be so much more for our ragged bodies to imagine.

🙂 sligocreek.com/Images/Section_Images/Arch-RaphaelL.JPG

Why the six wings i wonder, is it shame to cover up so much, or is it respect.

🙂 This is what we were created for. To be creatures who
will stand with the Archangels, hymning the glory and
the grandeur of God
- throughtout all eternity. And God will
make us such that we will be able to bear “the weight of glory”
that is to come.

I find it so comforting to be in song, with my mind wandiering on the lyrics, or the music sweeping my mind to a comfortable place. It is only through song i have ever met up with a vision, a meeting, a comentary, or a completely held person of the holy spirit. I KNOW by sight, touch, smell, and mental uphoria, that this place can only be found with song. I call it to Tarry…like in the garden.

Yes, we in the end, and sometimes even now , in our bodies, are able to be “caught up” in worship, along with our fellow creatures the Great Ones, and have a glimpse of our calling.

🙂 To behold the seven gold lampstands and in their midst, one like a son of man! !

May i ask what the 7 gold lampstands represents or where it is told from.

🙂 In this context, that which Augustine said is so very true.
“You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts
are restless, until they rest in Thee.”

This is exactly what i feel when i have tarried. There is a yearning, that is not fofilled untill you seek him out, and find it. When you do, you, like a junkie, will never be without the craving. Only this fix is purificating.

🙂 So much of modern life is based on what we think of ourselves, ad nauseam. When I realized that my opinion of just about anything you want name is not worth a bucket of warm spit. That’s when it occurred to me that IT’S not about ME!

Perfect…this message brings a concrete proof to my heart why ME is not a part of Gods equasion to be happy. We need only God to be happy, and we need to remove ME from our daily life and deeds to find him, and be closer to his cloak.

🙂 Like a toddler, who needs to put
down his teddy bear, to hold the ice cream cone in both hands.
He wants to do both.

I tend to be the one with ice cream on my bear…

😊 I finally got most of my thoughts to re-group…sorry for the space between posting!

Thank you, Lana, for highlighting the words of sawman.🙂
This time, what he said ‘registered.’

Right!

“Exist” means, literally, “to stand out*,*” from the background.

This is the paradox, I think. When we are with God, in heaven,
as C.S. Lewis noted * when we are with Him,*
we shall be evermore our self than we have ever been, here.http://bestsmileys.com/nono/9.gif

We will be in God, for eternity, yet His will is - not for us to somehow disappear in Him -
but, rather, to stand out ‘exist’] with even more clarity, even more delineated
than we can ever be, in our earthly existence.

And the beauty will be that we will each rejoice, in the clarity of all others,
thanking and praising Him for the beauty found in the singularity of each.

That’s why Reb Zusia said

“But if I were Moses, God wouldn’t have His Zusia.”

Absolutely…and Zusia isbut one ray in a sunbeam of Gods light.
So has Reen got a ray in this sunbeam…together, we are a rainbow.

Dear Reen and Rammy,

I want to thank you both for your posts. It is a rare thing to have the privelege of participating in such an honest, edifying, and delightful communion such as this thread has turned out to be. I thank all the posters who participated.

Each day I come to this thread with anticipation to see the diamonds of Reen, rare and exotic.

And the emeralds of Rammy earthy and fresh.

And best of all, to not need to care how I express myself, except that it might please and edify you guys.

In Heaven, and sometimes here in our bodies, we have the privelege of being completely lost in Him along with all our companions fellow lovers of God when we worship.
I think our truest knowledge of ourselves only comes to us through Him. It is only through Him that we truly live, love, and have our being.

Thank you both I am truly indebted to you bretheren.
Thank you Father for this taste of heaven!
Thank you for the commradeship we have in Jesus our Lord and Your only Son!
Thank you for the companionship of our fellow creatures the angelic hosts, who worship You unceasingly face to face!
thanks

Thank you, sawman. I, too, read your words and
Rammy’s words, and am lifted up to Him.

I will never forget your description of the “Watchers.”
I “see” them, too, in a different way. In the call to completely give up,
and to go under with severe mental illness.
To abandon rationality altogther. To turn inward,
and to never look outward again. A product of this illness,
is to think that God is not going to let me into heaven.
I have endured this “certitude” for 50 years.
It is delusionary, on my part, to think this. Yet I do.

I have no idea, why God would allow such suffering.
Perhaps it is so that I can hear and listen and speak to
those who also endure severe mental illness.
The kindest and the most gentle group of people, whom I have
ever spent time with, were my fellow patients on a psych ward.
Their courtesy to one another was exquisite,
and that courtesy extended to those who came to visit.

They, so ill, were able to really see other people,
and to care about them. They did not “look through” people -
they saw and recognized them. To see a 17 year old kid,
so ill, himself, helping an elderly patient make her way down a hallway
remains etched in my memory. Or the young man, 20 years my junior,
who was goodness itself. I will never forget him.
Like tableaus in the mind. Only Georges Rouault, the artist,
could convey this kind of suffering.

could convey this kind of suffering.
I first saw the work of Georges Rouault, when I was 23.

*Il a été maltraité… *He has been maltreated…

allinsongallery.com/rouault/21.html

*Le Christ aux outrages… *Christ mocked by soldiers.

moma.org/collection/provenance/items/images/414.41.jpg

Some of the human figures, drawn by Rouault, are nearly precise parallels -
to the figure of Christ, as Rouault painted Him.

In the work Solitaire, en cette vie… “Alone, in this life…” -

davidsongalleries.com/artists/rouault/rouault_solitaire.jpg

the figure is seated in the nearly identical pose, as that of Christ, in
*Le Christ aux outrages …*Christ mocked by soldiers.

Rouault juxataposed his figures of Christ, with figures enduring like pain.
To see these human beings, cast off by the world, abandoned in their suffering*, *
is to see Christ, in others.

That’s why my fellow patients were dear to me. To see them, was to see Christ.

Dear Reen,
Some day we can talk about how I “saw” the watchers.
That was not a pleasant experience.

I too admire Georges Roualt.
I think I did a paper on him for art appreciation class 35 years ago.
The brain ain’t what it used to be.
His work always made think of stained glass.

God bless to you.

Oh,
The watchers are a scriptural critter.
I can’t remember the reference, I think in Genesis.
I found out about them after I had the “sight”.

I had to get a good grip on my computer chair, as I read that you were familiar with Rouault.
Why am I not surprised? 🙂 Yes, they reminded me of stained glass, too.

http://bestsmileys.com/nono/9.gif I had a dandy one, covering Rouault and Simeone Martini.]

I appreciated Martini, because the eyes of his subjects looked inward.
As if they were experiencing a form of dissociation.

Your earlier description, alone, conveyed them, at least in small part, sawman.
Enough to know that I would not want to be anywhere near their ambit.

God continue to bless you,

Kindest regards,

I have to admit, i was not sure if these were good or bad.
Can you explain what they are, “watchers”

Lana

Dear Rammy,
Good or bad is a matter of perspective some times.

Was the angel of death who cut down the Egyptians Good or Bad?

Are the angels of Revelation the ones who will pour out the wrath of God on the earth Good or Bad?

These are only a couple of examples.

All I know is that I was very frightened of them.

And they did not tell me to be not afraid.

And I felt as though I’d escaped their notice.

The reference I looked up is from Daniel 4:13, 4:16.
This is the dream of Nebuchadnezzar.
Where he dreamed of losing his mind.
Where his mind is swaped for that of an animal.

I’m sorry, Rammy, and Reen too,
I have no Idea how I ended up talking about this in this thread.
It’s got nothing to do with the most toys does it?
Or maybe it does in that what some take for granted- Toys, Right Mind, Control of our thoughts, Health, wealth
Can all be gone in a minute.

I don’t know, Sorry
