I am pretty sure I read some directive from somewhere, a good orthodox source, warning people about associating theraputic massage, etc. with spirituality. I picked up a copy of the official newspaper from our diocese and there was an ad for that and more. It seems weird to me what do you folks think?
 
I get theraputic massages, use accupuncture etc…there is nothing wrong with that…also it is spelled Holistic without the “W”
 
Well, Karin, I did not make up or mispell it. That is the way it is spelled in the ad and on their website. It would be a little far for you to go their though. Maybe it is fine, it just sort of seems a little odd that these nuns are running this business.

And I was pointing out that the correct spelling for holistic is with an “H” and not with a “W” added;)

it does not hurt…but then i have never had an issue with needles…and it only took 2 sessions to notice a difference:thumbsup:

:hmmm: I wonder if it could be used for weight loss…I’ll ck it out…🙂
 
I know an excellent Chiropractor/Accupunturist in St. Louis. He is a strong Roman Catholic and shares a beautiful faith in God. He has an icon cornor in his office.

Also, my daughter is a Massage Therapist. Her massages are extremely thereputic as she not only works on docotrs, foot ball coaches, but also atheletes from many fields. She has an wonderful reputation in the community for an excellent massage. My husband is a deacon, she has him come into her office often and bless it with holy water & oil, to make sure it stays free of anything that might try to stay after someone receives a massage.

The music she plays while doing massage is Gregorain Chant. Her clients love it, although most do not realize she has the Psalms being read/sang over them while she is working on them. Many of her clients when they leave her office will leave with sheets of papers in their hands, this is what is on them…

I know many excellent therapists like her. I also know there is a bunch of ‘mess’ out there that you can get into, so it is wise to be careful. But, please don’t lump all therapists into the same bunch.
