Whom did Adam’s sons marry?

In my view, this is what happened …

God created life on Earth via evolution. In other words, what anthropologists call “evolution” is the hand of God at work.

At a particular point, when God felt that the homo sapiens line of hominid troupes were ready to “become man,” He ensouled a male and a female whom God, with perfect foreknowledge, knew he, the ensouled man, would want to bond with.

They saw each other. Each recognized that the other was “different” because ensoulment does that. They decided to hitch up, and they became a couple.

They produced offspring together. Under His Own plan God ensouled their offspring. God also ensouled members of the opposite sex from the same troupe with whom He, with perfect foreknowledge, knew these offspring would want to bond with, so that mating with unensouled hominid brutes – beastiality, as bad as incest, certainly – was unnecessary.

I say that this isn’t “polygenism,” because of what I say “Original Sin” is not, and what I say it is – not an incident in time, but rather a proclivity to evil decision making arising from a crazed search for escape from insecurity which all mortal flesh infused with an intellect and free will is tempted to embark on. Because we are all distant cousins of each other, descended from a remote unensouled hominid common ancestor, we all inherit this insecurity.

Though I call myself “Catholic,” I believe that the preceding is true. It is most definitely not what the Church teaches, I know.

Since I am new here, can you tell me if it is permissible to discuss evolution in any of the forums, here?

In other words, when you said that it is impermissible to discuss evolution “in this forum,” did you mean just the Sacred Scripture Forum, or did you mean that it is impermissible to discuss evolution anywhere in Catholic Answers Forums?

I don’t want to get in trouble

I know evolution/atheism discussion is banned in the Apologetics, Philosophy, Sacred Scripture, and Back Fence forums. There may be one other forum.

Read the stickies at the top of each forum for information about the bans.

As far as I can tell, the forums which would be the usual places where evolution and Catholic doctrines would be discussed have banned the topic due to major lack of charity. Once or twice I have seen evolution referred to briefly in another place, but it did not erupt into the bloody battles of the past.

When in doubt, you can always PM the forum’s moderator. The list of moderators can be found in the guidelines some place. Since there have been new moderators, you might try Staff Chat or a forum which helps people navigate CAF.

Enjoy your stay here. There are plenty of interesting topics to discuss and plenty of interesting posters. 😃
