I’m no expert theologian, but here’s my attempt at an answer:

Since the Tetragrammaton signifies God’s essential existence and independence of being, which is provable by human reason alone, it would seem to be most properly a reference to the one essence, and not a specific person.

As to the burning bush question, there seems little reason to suppose that the revelation was an act only of one person, as the Incarnation was. The economic Trinity, the Trinity considered as Creator and influencer of the universe, acts almost without exception as One, not Three. This is why we cannot prove the Triune Nature from unaided reason.

I recommend reading the Catholic Encyclopedia if you are more curious, the articles found there have been very helpful to me.

Agnostic? What are you talking about? Do you just prowl the forums as a flamer, making snide remarks where snide remarks weren’t asked for, trying to start arguments? Please find someone else’s thread to do that on. I, a Roman Catholic, have been confronted with these questions and several like them by a Messianic Jewish aquaintence via email and I would like some apologetical answers from a Christian perspective.

You are not only not being helpful, it seems like you are deliberately trying to stir up trouble and pull this discussion off the train tracks. Please do not do so. I really just want some answers to these questions.

If I misjudged your first post by thinking it was supposed to be “clever” then forgive me. It just seemed strange and certainly was not helpful.
