Bad grammer!
Poor spelling!

Back when I was just beginning my Catholic fanatic stage in the early 90’s, I was a house painter. One day I had left my lunchbox open n the living room of this new home we were painting. One of Kreeft’s books was sitting on top inside.

I was back in a bedroom painting a wall, and the “foreman” yelled down the hall for all the rough guys in the house, “Hey Chris, I’m going to assume that “Christianity for Modern Pagans” is yours…”

I was embarassed, but proud. I’d accidentally stealth-evangelized! 😉

That’s a great book, by the way.

He’s orthodox and a convert at that.

You can get a great talk from St. Joseph Communications that he did entitled: 7 Reasons Why Everyone Should Be Catholic. He recently wrote a book about the catholicism of JRR Tolkien. I saw him at the University of St. Thomas some years back.

He is often dubbed as the reincarnation of CS Lewis. When you hear him talk you’ll see why.

He’s a hugemongous fan of Lewis. I believe I heard him say once that everyone on earth should read Mere Christianity 6 times…lol. Not sure why 6 ( I have 4 to go and look forward to them all ;-)).

Kreeft believes this book to be one of the greatest books ever written. He is also a big fan of “The Abolition of Man”.

Hank Hannegraff (aka Bible Anser Man), possibly one the most influencial Evangelicals in the world today, I have noticed often quotes Kreeft. Especially on issues such as Heaven. Kreeft crosses Ecumenical lines (as Lewis did).

One (among many others) thing I love about people such as Lewis and Kreeft, is thier seemingly love of fantasy and art. They seem to imply that Heaven will be beyond our wildest imaginations and dreams. When talking of Heaven they seem to let go of worldly limits and venture to the truly beautiful.

When I need a lift, I listen too/read Kreeft.

And who is Thomas Howard? 😉

A good friend of Peter Kreeft, also a fan C.S. Lewis, and who, likewise, converted from evangelicalism.

He wrote “Evangelical is Not Enough!”

In academia, almost always they are mentioned in the same breadth! Kreeft teaches philosopy at Boston College while Howard teaches English at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, Massachussetts, under the Archdiocese of Boston.

Their respective conversions caused quite a stir in the Protestant world!
